by the seems of it, even if you found such a thing, he'd "not think" to use it, anyway0

Don't you want to learn new stuff?
Wouldn't you be happier if you knew where the shut-off valves were for everything in your house, and you knew when to use them?
in a way yes, ive always been a great believer in self sufficency, but to be honest, i find im regressing as i get older, i cant maintain and process information any more out of information overload i think.
i phoned up an insurance company a couple of weeks ago and failed security because i couldnt remember my own address.
i dont have memory problems or anything sinister, it is simply that i have too much in my mind. so shut off values are simply something that i cant be doing with. i need bottle feeding with stuff like this these days0 -
The things I was thinking about are called long rubber tap swirls!
They're like this. http://www.toolsandhardwaredirect.co.uk/catalogue.php?cat=503&subCat=1542&item_id=6151
oh well done, thats what we had in mind but i didnt know what they were called or how to search for them. 'rubber things' was a bit vague!0 -
Depending on how your plumbing is arranged, some of the noise may be the flow of cold water refilling the hot water tank's header tank?
In my hot water tank cupboard, the pipe which supplies this cold water up into the loft has a valve to shut it off.
its not the plumbing its the sound of the water going into the bath
the electric shower seems to be working again now, not sure why0 -
two of those long baloons on the taps, fit the open end on the tap lay it in the bath and cut the other end so that it lays on the bottom of the bath,
