Is there such a thing as something to make running a bath quiet?

My OH had a bath at 5.45am this morning and because he is very absent minded (read:thoughtless) he didnt think to shut the bathroom or bedroom door so I was woken up by the thunder of water running into the bath.

Is there something that you can get to go over the tap and go into the water to make the running quiet?

He needs to creep out quietly and shut the door. Running water is horrible to hear, worse than noises of doors. Do the doors creak then?

Shut the doors and maybe put a big sponge or something in the bath under the running water.

yes the doors do creak, how did you know. but thats not the reason he doesnt shut the door, its because he doesnt think.

Get some WD40 or a tiny bit of oil on the hinges and they will be quiet as a mouse. Lay some tissue on the floor just incase any oil drips off the hinges.

Tell him to have some consideration and if he carries on then deny any kind of sexual advances till he does. Sounds daft but it works with me, LOL

If you know he is going to get up early then, the night before, put a sign (sheet of A4 and written in marker) in the bath saying 'close bedroom and bathroom doors before running bath'. That should work.

Set the boiler only to heat water after a decent hour in the morning - it won't stop the selfish oik waking you up but at least you'll get your own back when he steps into a stone cold bath!

Either smoke a phat one just before going to bed, or buy a set of Moto-X ear defenders.
