Hello,
Sorry I am hoping one of you could help me with this please. I have been told that there is a problem moving my account from Tiscali to Talk Talk as there is an error code coming up. They are saying something about LLU and WR (something) sorry did not understand that part.
I have been on Samknows and this is what it is saying;
Congratulations, you are in a broadband enabled area.
to compare packages available to you.
However, there is another service on your phone line (e.g. ADSL, LLU, DACS, etc) that would prevent you from ordering a new ADSL connection.
The following services are available in your location:
What does this part mean:

Hope I have explained this well enough.
Thanks Nicky

That's just your current ADSL service. Everybody already on ADSL will get that message and it isn't the cause of your current problem.
You'll most likely need to get back to TalkTalk and ask for that to be explained again. If necessary get them to spell out the acronyms, write them down, then ask for an explanation. This may cause the rep's head to implode, explode, or force them into an even more vegetative state than is normal for TalKTalk call centre staff but they'll have trouble getting a conviction to stick so you should be OK.0 -
Thank you for taking time to reply.
They are saying that the line use to belong to virgin, but it was a BT line.
I did got to NTL before it changed to Virgin but have not had that for years. I was with Sky after NTL and closed that account in 2003. I have rang Virgin and they say that the line is nothing to do with them and do not know what Talk Talk are on about.
I am going to be losing all phone and Broadband on the 6th if this is not sorted out quick. Thanks for any help and advice given

If you're moving your ADSL service from Tiscali to Talk Talk, have you contacted Tiscali to as for your Migration (MAC) number? Once you have this and pass it to Talk Talk, they should do the rest of the work for you.
Good luck, I had all sorts of problems leaving Tiscali in the early 2000's, I hope they're not still making it more difficult than it needs to be. :mad:0 -
Tiscali was taken over by Talk Talk and they emailed me telling me not to worry I would have no problems with this as they would sort it all out. They have now written to me telling me that the Tiscali part of the company was closing completely and I needed to choose what package I would like with the Talk Talk bit.
I have done this but they are now saying that it's not a Tiscali line but Virgin when it cant be done. Have been trying to sort this for over a week now. Thanks for any help and advice given

Ok I see. So Virgin (NTL) originally installed the line for you originally? You then went to Sky, and finally to Tiscali?
If that's the case, and they're ending your service as they can't transfer the Internet service because of this "Virgin LLU" issue, I'd strongly suggest treating this as a blessing in disguise and move away from them while you can.
Your earlier search indicates that you can get Be's service on your line, and I would strongly recommend you check them out. bethere-co-uk - They'll do your phone line & broadband for you too.
The price may be a little more than what you're paying, but the service is unrivalled. Might be worth just going to their site, putting your phone number in and seeing what message you get on their line checker too.
Only thing is you probably won't be able to initiate the order until your Tiscali service ends on 6th May. Assuming they clear any "flags" on your line immediately which indicates you have a broadband provider still in place.
Did you question TalkTalk why the service wouldn't work despite the line being provisioned by Tiscali currently?0 -
I was with BT at the start, that was 17 years ago. The had NTL (Virgin) moved to Sky then to Tiscali in 2003.
I have rang Virgin and they have nothing on their system with my number and do not have the line, they say there should be no issue.
Talk Talk are ment to be ringing back later to see if they are any nearer sorting this out. Not sure if I can have a Talk Talk MAC code as they are saying I am Not with them. Thanks for any help and advice given

Who do you currently pay line rental to?0 -
I was paying Tiscali but have been told that they will not be doing anything after the 6th also they have not taken the last two months payments. Was told Tiscali has closed and I was just moving to the Talk Talk side. Thanks for any help and advice given

Dial 17070 - if it is a BT line it will tell you the number and offer some test options. Non-BT lines don't respond to thatnumber sfaik.
As you have ADSL on it now it must be a BT based line anyway because that's the only way you can get it. Even TalkTalk LLU lines get maintained by BT OpenReach.
If you really want to go with TalkTalk you'll have to call them back and ask to be transferred to a supervisor. This screw up may be a blessing in disguise though. As you have already found TalkTalk have great difficulty discerning the difference between their elbows and other parts of their anatomy.
I'm guessing that the problem has been caused by your number having been ported between telephone systems.0 -
Just rang that number and they gave me options.
I have been throught 2 supervisor's and am now dealing with someone from the CEO office but am not getting anywhere as yet. Thanks for any help and advice given
