Dirty find in hotel room - rights?

I have contacted them and was told a refund was done despite what my bank says and my online banking shows. I don't understand why you think compensation is out of the question? Would you not be raging if you found a used sex toy complete with bodily fluids and solids still on it? You may be happy with substandard service but I am not.

purcel, I have tried but it just puts me on hold for ages. I am now in contact with the hotel directly.

Raging? Perhaps. Certainly a bit cross. But I wouldn't expect, nor even ask for, compensation. Sometimes bad things happen and money is not some endless balm to ease every one of life's injustices. Compensation is primarily about making good any financial losses you've suffered, not merely to soothe your sensitivities. I'd just want my money back. But, pursue some comp if you're very distressed, no harm in doing so. Get back to them again about the refund, preferably in writing.

i'd find it pretty nasty too (the solids bit makes me shudder)! but you should end up with the cost of your stay refunded. compensation would make sense if you had any extra costs to pay or you had any longer consequences. push them for the refund, but i think going for further compensation seems more about milking the situation than getting a 'fair' result. a letter to the manager so that they know about it would seem sensible. demanding extra money seems excessive.

Sounds like they did a deduction rather than a refund - simple explanation. But a call to their helpline should put things right - as stated previously

I would like my money back and a proper apology. Thinking about it I have suffered material loss in my earphones and phone case which were thrown away after coming in contact with it. Maybe they could have been washed but I'm not taking the chance.

How did the earphones come into contact with the vibe, did you want to give it some entertainment?

I seemed to be wedged between the wall/headboard and the mattress. When my phone slipped down and I had to reach under to get it, it came out with it.

My earphones were in the phone and they all came out together in one delightful bundle of happiness. I can see the funny side but its still discusting
