I'm surprised someone hadn't already removed that sheep and taken it home for tea.
Isn't it the case that if you run over the creature, then eat it, you can be done for poaching, but if someone else runs it over then it's fair game. Perhaps the person who hit it was just being helpful?0 -

Correct for certain animals I believe, pheasants for example.
Other animals, like grey squirrels and pigeons (or was it sea gulls) you can actively kill at whim, because they're classed as pests.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
