I don't have many nice things but my cat has shown his annoyance that we haven't moved back to our old flat after a month by weeing on my bag. It is/was a lovely Laura Ashley soft leather bag but now stinks of wee.
Is there any saving it? The other items he has done it on have gone in the washing machine but I don;t think that that will work for leather??
If there is any option other than the bin - pls help!!

Hi i dont know how it will fair on leather but i know bicarbinate of soda is a good deodoriser (sp?). I use this on my carpets if my children have had accidents or been sick, sprinkle on and leave overnight and the smell is gone. Nothing else i have tried has worked so well.
I wouldnt think Bicarb would affect your bag but hopefully someone here will be able to help??

Thanks Sqeaky. Will maybe try the bio powder/ surgical spirit combo but not sure how it will affect the leather?!?There are times when parenthood seems nothing but feeding the mouth that bites you Peter De VriesDebt free by 40 (27/11/2016)0

You could try a test in an area not normally visible first to see how it goes, and in any case - if you're thinking that you'll have to throw it out... you've got nothing to lose by trying.
Wait a while though - another tip might be along any minute now
Maybe something like a good clean with saddle soap would help. You could look at these threads and see if there's anything useful to you...

Strange question, I know, and I didn't really know where to post it!
We had a stray cat come in the house through the cat flap a while back (we've since changed to a magnetic one) and it sprayed everywhere:eek: . I've managed to clean and de-smell most places, but unfortunately it managed to find a favourite pair of pale tan leather boots in the garage. I've tried ordinary shoe cleaner, but the urine has left dark marks which won't go away.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.0 -
I really need your help, I was given a gorgeous leather bag for my birthday and when I went to get something out of it today I discovered to my horror that my cat had peed inside it
Now I don't know what to do, there is cat pee all over my Radley leather pencil case (gift) and the inside of my bag and I have no idea how to begin cleaning them.
These items are not only expensive but really important to me as they were special gifts so any ideas would be gratefully receivedTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Is there anything here? I'll merge this later.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0

It looks from that as if there is no hope for my bag, I am so upset.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
