I have splashed olive oil on the arm of my couch. Have tried dabbing it off to no effect. (my own fault for eating my dinner on my knee!)
Any ideas how to get it out?

Yep
Take a look at the Cleaning section of the MEGA Index sticky at the top of the board. There's a listing about removing grease under "sofa" that might be of help and a whole bunch of things listed under "Clothes" that might help if your sofa is fabric covered.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. When my boyf stupidly spilt spicy sauce from his kebab on the footstool - I liberally sprinkled with talcum powder, hoovered it after half an hour, did it two more times, then did the dabbing with washing powder trick. There isnt even a stain now!

Don't know if this is on the MEGA thread but youcould try flour and then wash it. When OH and I were out in our fave italian restaurant
(and my OH being Italian related we know the owner and they always force us to have afree drink at the end of the meal... mmmm amaretto... anyway)
My OH was having some pasta in a red sauce when he dropped a bit back on his plate and splasehd my white top (as if I need any help getting dinner down my front)!!!
The waiter/wine dude brought over a little dish with some flour in and it soaks the grease out of the stain so it is dry and it came out totally when washed!!
Squeaks where is the bst place for me to post this acvice? if it isn't somewhere already???
HTH.oooh look only about 220 posts and I got round to doing my Avatar already!!0 -
It'll get indexed next weekend if you put it into the Save Zillions on Cleaning thread, as can jw's tip and Weyre's if they'd like...
..otherwise this thread will get indexed whole as I catch you all up with the MEGA thread indexing - which will make all the tips available in one go.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
