Hi all. I booked a sun holiday to butlins. We are going 18th july to bognor. We opted for dinner bed and breakfast. I got my confirmation through and paid £60. We then waited to hear from butlins. An email arrived only 2 days later. We had been put into silver at no extra cost :) I stayed at butlins last year end of september and paid a hell of a lot more for silver dinner bed and breakfast than I did with the sun for peak season july! My holiday cost £240 for 4 nights and that is with linen, maids (who change the bed and do towels daily) passes and UPGRADED TO PREMIUM DINING (FOOD IS EXCELLENT). What a bargin. To book through butlins direct it was well in the £700+. A WORD OF WARNING, YOU CANNOT UPGRADE A SUN HOLIDAY TO A GOLD APPARTMENT (I TRIED). All in all a great holiday, I reccomend to all. :)

ps. this is for 2 adults and a 3 year old!

Hi, just come back from Skegness tonight and my 3 year old had a ball. Stayed in a silver apartment but went half board which was well worth it. The food was not amazing but good enough and plenty choice. Our apartment had bed linen but no towels. Had housekeeping come round on 2 of the days also. An amazing place with lots to do and very well run.

:(Thats abit annoying that you can add people for the same price per person after the inital booking. cause thier were 6 in my party I paid for 2 separte bookings meaning I'm paying for 8 guests even though only 6 are coming. In addition to that I also paid an extra tenner for a priority code (which I couldn't use but thats a whole notha story) It will still cost quite abit less than if I paid direct so its easier to swallow.

Also booked train tickets really early so its costing me £19.60 :D for the 6 of us to travel from london (with family railcard) so thats good as well.

OK so at least I know what I'll do next time round. I think I'd take the risk.

Unfortunatly YES. I rang through straight away when I got my booking. The advisor said that as is was a SUN holiday you could only go as far as silver :( (however silver is not all that bad!) He did not even give the option of silver plus, just whether i wanted to pay an extra £10.00 for ground floor! I managed to upgrade my dining package though. So I am very happy. In all honesty I hardly spend any time in the appartment except to sleep :) I may ask again and turn up early on the day. As they often have the option to upgrade to something better on the day of your arrival, and we all like a bit of luxury at a bargin price!! Good luck x (this was bognor regis camp)

thats right you cannot upgrade to gold at butlins with the sun, only silver. We went to bognor just before christmas with the sun offer and the silver appartments had just been all done up so was really nice, brand new carpet and bathroom and you could still smell the fresh paint.

just to say i have booked several times with sun priority but this year decided to book direct and see what i can get so i gave my priority code away to a member waiting on forum, anyway booking via the sun it was going to cost £568 with 5 of us 4 considered adults and 1 child with upgrade at peak times including linen and passes with meals at included in food court. so we booked direct we got all for £537 which is silver room 3 br with linen etc passes and upgraded to premium dining .
so on this occassion cheaper via butlins oh and the cashback quidco and at time of booking you got extra £25 off booking online.
i will however be using the sun holidays again as they are great bargains to be had throughout the year we done 2 trips last year 1 to scarborough and 1 to ayr both well worth it.thanx:j
