indefinitely suspended due to p&p rating

If you as a buyer are unhappy with up front postage (and note, packing) costs of £1 on an item that is posted with a first class stamp of 46p then I don't think you should bid to buy. The p&p is there for all to see before bidding, don't bleat about it after purchase!
DSR is absurdly open to abuse and the contrary whims of purchasers and I do not comprehend how ebay can close or limit accounts of sellers of long standing who have feeback scores in a ninety percentile range. I was subject to a "below standard" account due to malicous feedback a while ago and subsequently had an account suspended. I switched selling to other sites - ebay then lost all that commission and all my good will. My feedback rating was/is 98.8%. Go figure.
Spot on pal.
If i search items in order of price+p&p, and then choose the cheapest - i do not care what the postage actually costs. If i don't like it - i have the option of buying the dearer item and paying less postage - but more overall.
The newest ebay scam, is to bid and then demand a postage refund for the difference when it arrives. Its feedback blackmail. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE TOTAL PRICE - DO NOT BID AND SOD OFF ELSEWHERE!!!!!!!
I would like to see people challenging argos or tesco for a refund in postage because they decided it was more than they wanted to pay. You know the cost up front!!!!!
Also - if you want rid of a rival seller - bid on a couple of their items - leave low DSR's - and '!!!!!!' - they are gone (or you could just come on here and constantly encourage others to leave neg feedbacks and low DSR's all the time).0 -
I think it is assumed that as there are so many warnings about maintaining your expanded seller dashboard that sellers did it as a matter of habit.
When the expanded seller dashboard was brought in a few years back we had a sticky on here about it warning people to keep watching it, but eveyone was already doing it, so the sticky became redundant.
Anecdotally using recorded on low value items does seem to hit the stars quite badly which is another reason why most serious sellers just build in a small amount of loss to their business plans and use normal mail.
Wow, as it been the long. I did notice the green buttons in my account - but that was it. But i only realised they were 'buttons', when i got the email and one turned red - so i clicked on it.
I just use recorded over £10 now - and all p&p is free - so the buyer cannot punish me anymore.0 -

Doesn't that impact badly on yoor profits though?
I sell to make money so for me I want those 77ps more than Royal Mail and can't afford to waste that amount each month. I'm down to around 80 items a month at the moment as my other work committments are increasing, but even sending 80 items a month would cost me £61.60 and that's a lot of money that I would rather keep for myself. If it got to the stage where I was losing enough items to cover that £61 then I would probably just give up as I would think I was doing something badly wrong.
As it is I am down to less than one loss per thousand items and I have no reason to suppsoe that any of my losses have ever been reported fraudulently so do not need to cover myself against a rogue buyer anyway.
For me as a business it is all to do with making reasonable adjustments to protect my income, paying out £770 per one thousand parcels to potentially cover myself against one single fraudulently claimed loss does not make economic sense. I am a bit of a number/statistic nerd though and tend to be ruled by hard facts rather than any 'feelings' about being cheated.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Since the OP can't be bothered to respond to his own thread, i'm not in surprised he has a low rating for everything, including communications.Owed out = lots. :cool:0

Maybe he is busy working and isn't attached to MSE 24/7 like most of us.0

I just try and squeeze a bit onto the price - but the only winner is Ebay. Free p&p is only until i'm back below 2% - then i will just charge under cost.
I totally agree on the tracking though. If one does go astray - the money saved by not sending recorded - will more than cover it.
I just hate people getting one over me, and i have had no claims against me since sending recorded. Plus INR cases now count in assessments.0 -

If you are doing free postage then the whole of the 77p is coming off your profits. If we both sell the same item at £10 and you pay say £1.69 ctual postage and i pay 92p postage but we both get £10 for our items then I am already doing better than you are.
I might be taking this all a bit to serious but this isn't a game, and paying out several hundred pounds to protect yourself against a potential scammer is not on..you can't afford to do it. They are not getting one over on you, stuff does get lost so put your business head on and have another think about this.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
