I saw one of the white cardboard stands containing consoles and games.

On the Xbox side, there were some of the small cardboard boxes with bundles - some boxes for Xbox 360+PES at £279.97 (printed on the boxes), some boxes for Xbox 360+GOW for £297.81 (printed on the boxes).

Higher up, in large black lettering, it says "Xbox 360 and Gears of War for" and then a yellow SEL has been stuck over whatever amount was there before. The yellow SEL shows £279.94 and says "Pro Evo Soc" in small print.

So clearly someone has put that SEL in the wrong place. If I was a genuine customer though, I think I could have been misled and thought I would get Xbox360+GOW for £279.94. One problem is that the small boxes clearly show £297.81.

Could this be worth a try for an R&R? I realise they could say the SEL applies to a different product, but it isn't up to the customer to check the small print, and not everyone would realise "Pro Evo Soc" stands for Pro Evolution Soccer.

1/ The TV in question scans at £799.97 and always has done.

Sorry to correct you on point 1 the TV was £799 a few weeks ago it then went up to £849 and has now dropped again to £799.97

Oh yes this is indead that one and I have been corrected. The reason last time was that stores put out the reduced SEL's early before the price has actually been reduced on the national database but this time it looks like pie in the sky.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
    unreal

I have just waited for a few hours to get my Wii, there was a big sign saying buy a wii and 2 games save £20. Guess what the discount did not kick in, i could not belive my luck. Then to my dispair the people in front of me started complaining that about the discount not coming off. The manager then had to override everyone that had the two games and give them the discount.

now here is my problem i bought two consoles with my m8, three proper games and a wii play incuding game (which came up as a remote on my receipt), so i was expecting £40 off but we only got £20. Do you think i might get a r&r on this or am i barking up the wrong tree

Just a comment on some of the posts I've read over the last few hours, not mithered about who got what, its all got a bit juvenile IMO..

Don't think its nice to be posting PM's on here, not for 'points scoring' purposes anyway.. Keep the private messages private hey?

Omg 58 minutes after the release of a new games console & some1 has already posted about a potential R&R

That must be some kind of record!

If you didn't get a discount & people in front of you didn't get the discount as advertised then it seems like an R&R to me.

Did you have your receipt and/or goods in your hand when the manager had to override HO's incompetence?

If so welcome to MSE & ring head office tommorrow!

My mate Kev might be in for a busy day.

was the Wii advertised as going on sale at midnight?

I've been doing some R&R research in the last few days & none of the stores in my area have even mentioned the wii on any POS

Might be worth getting up early 2moz for a little scout in my local tho...
