Tesco misprice discussion area part 15

Was working away from home this week and killed a few hours by wandering the local Tesco's and I noticed a sign in the meat aisle saying "Customer notice: Price on shelf is a guide only". Ergo it was there attempt to dodge meat R&R's. Has anybody seen this before and how would you overcome it? I didn't push it, being away from home and all, but it seems a difficult one to argue or am I being a wimp? Also noticed a sign on bulk buying saying Ambient Products ...... 6, whats an ambient product?

last week i stuck up a pic of some of the goods i got 3 xboxs (2 premium and 1 core) 5 bubbly, 8 xbox games and a couple of psp games. and not once was i asked for receipts.

for the ones who posted those details i thank you as i thank my wife who phoned me when in store to tell me what was going on in this board.

just have the guts people to try a dear product every day if it dont work pull out, dont / cant pay trick.

i hope everyone gets a tv that tries.

before anyone asks why i didn't go and get another at a diffo store...

i had to put the rear seats down to get it in and thought to lose it by some naughty little urchin screwing me motor while i went lookin would have been a waste of me spolis....:o

To be honest it doesn't make a huge amount of sense to me. In my experience ambient is a term relating to temperature or the environment, so at a guess I'd say it may be products that don't require specific temperature or environmental storage conditions as opposed to products that are stored in freezers or the chiller cabinets.

They were all established possible finds, xbox's especially dubious,,, 3 very lucky indeed :rolleyes: . Since posting the bravia tv , 2 users have said it scans @ £799.97

The signs have been popping up in odd stores now & then.

These signs (edit:meant the price is a guide only signs) are a serious offence.
Trading Standards are very interested in them.

I'd suggest you don't bother mentioning it to Tescos, they just remove them quick. Instead you could report it to TS and with a bit of luck when the enforcement officer arrives in store the signs still there.

If your comfortable with taking mobile phone pic then you could email that in as well.

The trouble has been that Enforcement officer turns up & store says Sign? What sign? (as they've already removed it) or they say 'Oh yes that sign, it was put up in error. As soon as we realised we took it down.'

Its much better if the signs up when the officer visits the store.

Alternatively a quick call to HO mentioning which store will see it removed pronto.
