  • I did read that post and once again i came to my own conclusion!!

    BAIT

Sorry but that's exactly as to how i read it :)

And you're entitled to your opinion. I read it differently.

Answer me this: Had it been Constantine, would you have read it as bait?

From what i have read regarding Constatine posts i pretty much doubt they would make such a comment, as far as i'm concerned Constantine is a respectable poster in this forum. One the other hand take a proper look at TE post a differnet kettle of fish altogether.

As you have stated in your post you read it differently to what i did that's fine :) each to their own

He said earlier that he had to go to work, as did Constantine. I take it you skipped the posts about going in to sort out space in their warehouses?

Seriously, you people are sometimes far too quick to jump on others. You really could do with showing a little more tolerance. (Aimed at many people, leadhead - not specifically at you.)

You are starting to get a little annoyed here MUNT, and starting to make false assumptions and inuendos.

I have great respect for you.....but on this ocassion you are defending something that you cant know about.......as the OP isnt here.

Yes I read that he was going into work, but he posted for a long time after that.

His final post is the only thing I am concerned with.....he made a "baited" post and disappeared........that is a fact.

Someone answered straight away, but he was gone...you now seem to be getting a little uncivil, about the whole thing.

He definately made a post, which neither of our other Tesco contributers would have made.

Please dont try to defend him, as you cant possibly know what he meant.

All I am saying ( and i hope i am wrong)....ive seen this type of baiting post from him before.

End of story as far as i'm concerned

Any answer you give to this will just prolonng the off topic debate and in your own words.....help to get the thread closed down.

You say we are only to quick to jump on others...but one swallow doesnt make a summer.....lets hope hes changed.....but arent you only basing your whole assumptions on one days postings......whereas weve had weeks of drivel from him...

I say again.......I hope he has changed.

Just to get this thread back on the topic of misprices...

I spotted the Lexmar x5470 all-in-1 printer with a SEL of 69.9x on Friday and after reading on the other thread about it scanning at 99.9x I picked it up. Scaned at 69.9x. :(

However, at another store not too far away I saw the same printer: SEL 99.9x.

So be careful of this one - seems to be different prices in different stores.

Did some shopping today and saw the mince & turkey stirfry. I don't r&r at my local store so I didn't bother with these but I must admit to being surprised as my local is usually pretty up on misprices (esp meat) and this one has been around for a while.

As a matter of interest (for those who disapprove of r&r) let's look at this misprice a little more closely.

Mince is a basic foodstuff. It is bought by rich and poor alike but is more likely to be a staple in a poor household. Consequently Tesco's are overcharging their poorest customers by over 8% on this product and have continued to do so for a number of days despite being aware of it (they read the misprice threads). They are *very* quick to fix a misprice when it is on a £300 xbox where lots of people notice but very slow (reluctant) when it comes to a low value item *where most people won't notice the overcharge*.

So, the logical conclusion is that Tesco have been knowingly and illegally profiteering from their poorest customers.

It's things like this that mean I have no sympathy for Tesco's when it comes to the (supposed) abuse of the r&r policy by members of this board.

As I said, in the context of the conversation, it was an acceptable post. It wasn't meant to be hush hush - I don't work for Tesco. In fact, I'm probably close to being banned from one of my locals. It was a discussion between people who were participating on the thread at the time. You weren't really posting much, nor was Leadhead. The main three people posting were two employees and a member of the general public. One point I would like to make is this: Has it been Constantine who had posted it, most people here would have taken it as a joke, or laughed it off. We wouldn't be having this discussion now if Constantine had said it.

That last bit is rubbish....Constantine hasnt got a reputation for baiting re misprices, or goading.

You are clutching at straws now.

I have to say, coming into this conversation after catching up on the last 7 or 8 pages that although TE does seem to have been a lot more chilled out with his postings, that did seem like a baited post to me.

And I honestly dont think Constantine would have posted something like that from what I've seen of his posts.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)
  • Everyone is completely entitled to their own opinion about whether that is a 'baiting' post or not. As the OP has gone the question cannot be answered, however I'm intrigued to know how the possibility of such an overcharge can still exist.

Previous posts by the OP have indicated that overprice information, including posts on this site, is immediately passed on to HO or otherwise quickly distributed to stores, with an urgency seemingly commensurate to the value of goods.

Why then, in this case, would there still be a potential overcharge situation, bearing in mind that this is a potential massive overcharge?

Perhaps HO do not update the stores/pricing data at the weeked even if such an 'emergency' is detected? Is this really the case?

People are making out that it was his last post before disappearing off to work. However, it wasn't. He posted a few times after that post. He went on to say in a further post that we shouldn't expect him to post precise information about the potential oc. This post was done in a jokey manner, which is why I said to other people to read the post in the context of the conversation.
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: You can't blame us for trying to make the expiry date as small as possible though;)
The above post could have been taken as baiting had TE not used a load of smilies. I just think that people here should give TE the benefit of the doubt in light of the informative and friendly contribution he's made to the thread today. Twice he posted the link to the misprices thread. He did so without a hint of sarcasm or criticism. From his posts today, I believe he has a lot to contribute. I think we should give him the chance. At the end of the day, it's a damn sight better than arguing all the time and threatening the life expectancy of the thread. When Spa2K first started posting on these threads, he was a little defensive. I remember him arguing a lot with various people, myself included. He quite clearly stated his opinions on R&Rers and got a load of crap for it. He then mellowed and became one of the most informative people on the thread, alongside Constantine and Ben.
