Many times I've had a very helpful CS offer R&R straight away and then go on to carefully explain the policy.

Every time this has happened without fail they mention that 'Double Scans' are NOT covered by the Price Promise Policy.

These are the 'human errors' that are supposed to be excluded from R&Rs. Unfortuneately some stores try to include anything & everything in the 'human error' category thereby wriggling out of R&R.

I think this is hit and miss as some CS don't really know themselves. Last week when I was arguing over whether finest ham was included in the "buy2 save £1" offer a guy who had bought 24 cans of fosters that had been scanned twice got R+R even though he protested and said he only wanted the amount he had been overcharged!

visited 4 tescos today got 10pks of pork chops sel £4.28 charged £4.98 r+r no problems......went looking for the simpsons dvds found series 4 and 5 box sets priced £19.84 on dvd so bought 2 of each but charged £22.98 at checkout....unfortunately cs noticed and corrected price to £19.84 (4 in total).......i kept them and went 2 miles down the road to another tesco........had same dvds there but without sticker on.........so bought 4 at £22.98 then went back to first tesco and gave them unstickered version for refund...no probs.........then took the stickered version back to other tesco and successfully got r+r on all 4.........outcome, after abit of hassle 4 simpsons dvds free (saving £80.00), going back on Monday to take two back without receipt (as receipt marked) to exchange for other dvds upto £40.00..........hope you followed this....worthwhile doing

Not worth doing at all. Quickest way to get yourself a ban and possibly a criminal record. Fraud. Exactly the same scenario as taking lower sels from one store to another.

If the second Tesco has a habit of removing all labels from dvds (which they probably do, hence no labels), then it may start alarm bells ringing as to why 2 boxsets were refunded there. A quick replay of cctv footage and the ban is imminent.

Any new members, this is outside the realm of R&Ring.

I completely agree, the R&R posted on," misprices", has a severe element of deception, along with the fraud as mentioned above.

You are on very dodgy ground with this one my friend. Especially when Mr T`s are so generous already.

It`s not worth the possible raising of your profile for a couple of dvd`s, fingers crossed they don`t have any cctv of you.

C/S said that they now have a disclaimer sign to prevent meat overcharges, cos 'It's cost us thousands'. It states
'Customer Information, Unit price is used as a guide only',
on an official yellow card. There was one of these on the meat dept, & the C/S bod had a job to find it.

Does anyone know if they can do this? Surely if there was only one price listed the sign may be valid, but with two prices displayed it comes under the ASA rules, or does it?

Got a full R&R on meat I bought after this was quoted. Told by H/O that sign pertains to meat that is preweighed, i.e. 500g for £1.50. It is done cos they can't guarantee that every pack labelled like that is exactly 500g. It does not count for variable weight items that are individually priced per Kg.
I've been away for a few days and am catching up, a mammoth task, so if someone else has answered the original post, sorry.

    Have a read here ...

Trading Standards consider these to be a breach of EU Law regarding the display of accurate price/kg.

Tescos come up with all sorts of fudge trying to explain what they are all about but its clear they are there to try and refuse R&Rs. Staff even say so.

If they are displayed in the fresh meat section alongside weighed items they are in breach of EU law so you might as well report them.

TS Enforcement Officer said it was beyond belief that a Company like Tescos would display a sign like this.

    Dudes,

I'm weary of reading a lot of the dross that's been published over the last 24 hours or so.

I'm tired of trying to educate newer members of the community that the likes of Chubby are wasting eveyones time with mis-leading posts.

I despair that only a few of the other veterans seem to have cottoned on what this chap is all about - Ole1973 and Brindles - you are stars.

I don't need Dudes intimating that I am in some way a catalyst to the dross posts that followed mine yesterday - I don't want to be labelled as some kind of waster on this thread.

I've lost count of the times that I've tried to step in and act as a voice of reason when disruptive members have almost gotten this thread closed.

Apart from the odd bit of humour I try to inject into this forum I have consistently tried to help other Dudes - be it mis-prices or more general advice.

I don't have to do this - I choose to - I like helping people on this forum - post number 2 says it all really.

I'm not happy - it all feels like a slap in the face to be honest.

So I'm going to go bowling tonite and having a few beers.

Duder, Without wanting to sound like a complete fruit, I think your posts are and always have been pretty spot on and helpfull too. I don't get to post on here as often as I would like, but I remember back in March when I stumbled across the thread as a newbie (indeed to many I still am), you were very forthcoming with your help, indeed to PM'ed me with some advice which was a pretty cool thing to do IMHO. As you know these people come and go, but I for one hope you stay around and keep helping dudes out. If it wasn't for your advice perhaps I'd of folded and given up on rnr and missed out on some great stuff, so don't let the b@stards drag you down mate!

Yup completely agree that this is fraudulent so don't do it.

What about the following scenario though:

You purchase a stickered product, say a DVD, in one store but change your mind about it and take it back to another store for a refund. This store places said DVD back onto the shelf (without removing the sticker) and the sticker price is less than the SEL price, thus creating a discrepancy in pricing which results in a potential r&r. You then change your mind about the DVD again and after a few days visit the second store where you see the aforementioned DVD. Thoughts anyone?

If they offer it back for sale at a lower price that is their error. R&R :D

'Hello, my name is Brindles 01 and I am a Tesco's RnRer'. How many other people on this thread CANNOT go shopping or leave the house/office/work without having a glance at the Misprice/Discussion thread - just in case - there might be something that HAS to be checked out? Or they know virtually to the last misprice what should be checked out? If ever Tesco close their overcharge policy we might have to set up a 'self help thread' to overcome the problems people will have, No 1 being, lots of time on our hands!
