    Dudes,

I'm weary of reading a lot of the dross that's been published over the last 24 hours or so.

I'm tired of trying to educate newer members of the community that the likes of Chubby are wasting eveyones time with mis-leading posts.

I despair that only a few of the other veterans seem to have cottoned on what this chap is all about - Ole1973 and Brindles - you are stars.

I don't need Dudes intimating that I am in some way a catalyst to the dross posts that followed mine yesterday - I don't want to be labelled as some kind of waster on this thread.

I've lost count of the times that I've tried to step in and act as a voice of reason when disruptive members have almost gotten this thread closed.

Apart from the odd bit of humour I try to inject into this forum I have consistently tried to help other Dudes - be it mis-prices or more general advice.

I don't have to do this - I choose to - I like helping people on this forum - post number 2 says it all really.

I'm not happy - it all feels like a slap in the face to be honest.

So I'm going to go bowling tonite and having a few beers.

  • Well....yes to a cetain degree postee....but then, you're probably not from my neck of the woods, so I wouldn't be on your 'patch'. I could have an undiscovered area (and judging by the mistakes at my locals no-ones been here lately!):j :j :j

It`s funny, when we find a store with non of the latest misprices, it is automatically assumed that a fellow MSE`r has beaten them to it.

It`s very rare that a shop is blessed with the praise of bening good on pricing.

Who am I kidding.......... A store being spot on, it`ll never happen, one day I`ll beat you , whoever you are.

The R&R will be mine, all mine I tell you.

I think that it's just the case that my local has had extensive refurbishment lately and neglected the pricing. I've had 5 Sex and the City DVD's from this store in as many weeks. They obviously have other things on their mind.......

 Hey Dude have a bowl and a beer for moi....although a glass or Argentian Shiraz is more to my liking.:wink::wink:

Was working away from home this week and killed a few hours by wandering the local Tesco's and I noticed a sign in the meat aisle saying "Customer notice: Price on shelf is a guide only". Ergo it was there attempt to dodge meat R&R's. Has anybody seen this before and how would you overcome it? I didn't push it, being away from home and all, but it seems a difficult one to argue or am I being a wimp? Also noticed a sign on bulk buying saying Ambient Products ...... 6, whats an ambient product?

C/S said that they now have a disclaimer sign to prevent meat overcharges, cos 'It's cost us thousands'. It states
'Customer Information, Unit price is used as a guide only',
on an official yellow card. There was one of these on the meat dept, & the C/S bod had a job to find it.

Does anyone know if they can do this? Surely if there was only one price listed the sign may be valid, but with two prices displayed it comes under the ASA rules, or does it?

Got a full R&R on meat I bought after this was quoted. Told by H/O that sign pertains to meat that is preweighed, i.e. 500g for £1.50. It is done cos they can't guarantee that every pack labelled like that is exactly 500g. It does not count for variable weight items that are individually priced per Kg.
I've been away for a few days and am catching up, a mammoth task, so if someone else has answered the original post, sorry.

Now if they scan the item twice in the till is this an overcharge? As i had a £15 item they scanned twice and the CS lady only refunded me the £15. (I did'nt want to push it as i was getting £45 of dvds at the time  )
Many times I've had a very helpful CS offer R&R straight away and then go on to carefully explain the policy.

Every time this has happened without fail they mention that 'Double Scans' are NOT covered by the Price Promise Policy.

These are the 'human errors' that are supposed to be excluded from R&Rs. Unfortuneately some stores try to include anything & everything in the 'human error' category thereby wriggling out of R&R.
