Possibly bored of the iphone..what's the alternative?
I currently have an Iphone 3G. To be honest this is what I do on a phone at present.
1. Make calls
2. Web browse
3. Check Email
4. Check Twitter/FB
5. Listen to music
I occasional play games but given that I'm on a 3G these are limited. I'm toying with idea of moving away from the iphone as I want a smartphone which can provide me with the best experience and I'm wondering if the Iphone 4 would be more of the same?
In the past I've dismissed Android but now I'm starting to take notice.
So the questions I really have is if anyone has moved away from the Iphone, to what and was it the right move.

The real question, is should you not be finding something more than a phone to fulfill whatever is 'missing' in your life?
I don't have an iphone, but you can rest assured, the 5 features you mention my old symbian does as well, (also takes pictures and has an FM radio)
At the end of the day and handset/OS is best for some and not for others, having an ipod touch latest gen, I just could not see myself ever having an iphone, seeing my mate's desire (he has an iphone and palm pre too) looks interesting (other than I feel the screen is exaggerated in colouring) , he did seem surprised that I get over 2 days battery life though

My mate has a Samsung Galaxy S. He says you're charging it every day, sometimes twice a day if you really use it.0

Looking at Android as an iPhone replacement (depending on what the iPhone 5 is like!)So the questions I really have is if anyone has moved away from the Iphone, to what and was it the right move.
Will I regret the move from Apple to Android?0 -

blackberrys last about 2 daysDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I charge my phone everyday, it is hardly a big job I just plug it in when I go to bed at night and unplug it in the morning fully charged!
The latest Android's have dual core or twice the processing speed of an iPhone 4 and so until the iPhone 5 they seem the better phone, hardware wise anyway.0 -

This sounds like one of those cases where you desire to try something new under the notion that the grass is greener on the other side.
Any new purchase will do the same things, just in a different way. Judging by the number of Android users I witness changing phones like they change their underwear, it's clearly not the be all end all of user satisfaction if they feel the need to change their phone everytime a new one is released.
I say stick with what works for you. No point wasting money on something new if what you already have works.
If you do decide to buy something new, be sure to research if the apps you want are available on a different platform. There are still a lot of gaps in the Android Marketplace for example (banking apps being one such ommission).0 -

I'm talking about apps that give you direct access rather than going through the web browser and login process. For instance, the Royal Bank of Scotland app is iPhone only, as is the First Direct app.0 -
I have a Samsung Galaxy Portal. After nearly 18 months of use it needs charging twice a day if you use the internet a lot. Another problem is its limited memory. You can download loads of free apps for it but it gets low on disc space pretty easily and there isn't a way to transfer apps onto an SD card (that I know of). Mine really struggles with Angry Birds - even if I delete lots of apps from it. You can listen to music stored on the SD card though.
I'd recommend finding someone that has one and giving it a go. I wouldn't recommend this model though.0
