    Good Morning xx
Yummy puddings made - need to watch my waistline. I was especially proud of my meringue. Well I was until Kids Dad turned the oven back on for pizza and didnt see my meringue cooling a la Delia :mad::mad::mad: Still my new mixer has come into its own and I know that I wont be disappointed next time I make one. I have also conquered scones this weekend too so feeling positive as regards my baking abilities (even if its me giving the directions and kids actually doing it).

Been feeling a bit in the dumps this weekend. Got lots on my mind as I have three kids doing exams and am very worried about two of them - DD (18) and DS2 (16). They dont seem to be working and I have leant from bitter experience that there is only so much you can do as a parent. Also DS1 is giving me grief as he has jacked or was sacked ?? from another job :eek::eek:

But the sun is shining and my veggies are growing so Im going to try and focus on the positives. Hugs xx

    Morning all.
Woke before 7 and had to get up right away and nip off to the shop for milk before dh went to work. Our local shops (3 of them) all charge 1.39 for 4 pints, but there is a shop just a wee drive away which is just 99p. He has also started doing a wee basket of out-of-date food, so I got a packet of Foxes biccies for 39p.

Well, I watched my first episode of Extreme Couponing on Disc Realtime last night!!!!!! Waooooow! Couldn't quite believe how obsessed these people are. For anyone who hasn't seen it, it is an American thing where people buy vast amounts of groceries and use double and triple coupons, discounts, offers etc to reduce the bill. Just to give an idea: one lady bought groceries totalling just over $1900 and paid just $103!!!
Another family bought $1100 worth and paid I think $43, and another bought $460+ and paid just over $8.
Unbelievable stuff. They were buying stuff just because they could. Their house were literally crammed with rooms full of loo rolls, tinned food, cleaning products etc. Seems to be like an industry to them.
It seemed very unhealthy to me. I mean to say, I love a bargain as much as the next person, but this was utterly greedy and ridiculous.

    Good Morning Everyone!
I got up for a coiple of hours from 4am so now feeling very sleepy still! However, loads to do, so must go and get dressed shortly. Sad news about "our 'Enery" last night - I'm of an age to remember him flooring Cassius Clay as he then was! Then today, woke to news about Bin Laden... amazed it's taken so long to catch up with him, and whilst I agree that "justice has finally been done", like Bitsy, I'm certain someone else will take his place as a figurehead for internaional terrorism.
DH and I need to crack on with clearing the loft today. So far have thrown away about 98% of everything we've brought down, which really begs the question as to why it was all put up there in the first place! Mind we have found silver christening stuff up there as well!
Need to bake bread and change sheets so WM will be on very shortly. I have one final essay to do as my two year course is nearly done. essay due in by Thursday and so far I've done zilch in the way of reading or writing for it. That's a personal OS for me - I have never been able to work at anything until the clock is really ticking! Problem is, my body doesn't cope so well with all-night study sessions as it did in my college years! Oh well, it will be done, tho' probably at cost of my temper!
We are away at the end of the week, so need to eat up the fridge contsnts this week! HM soup plus ham and biscuits for lunch, then HM lasagne for supper. Was going to use up pork from yesterday in sweet and sour, but not enough for three and we have company tonight.
Hope you all have a great day today - weather here is gorgeous! Take care whatever you are doing.

    Morning All,

Another glorious day is sunny Glasgow :) OH is off work this morning, he has what appears to be a trapped nerve in his back, so I persuaded him to stay home and see if he can stretch it out. We'll see how long the sympathy lasts :rotfl:.

DS1 came downstairs about ten minutes ago, I had stripped his bed for cleaning, and he decided he needed to lie on. I know why, now! He has grown overnight  Well maybe not quite but he's huge, and I am wondering where it will stop. My uncles are 6'4" and 6'5", and OH is 6', I am 5'8", and we thought he would probably be about 6 feet but he's only eleven, and 5'5" already! He has been talking about taking up running, it might be a good idea with those legs!

OS the bedsheets are in the machine as I said, did my supermarket shop yesterday, and mealplanned for the week, I need to try to stick to my monthly GC this month, and also get back on my diet. DS2 is just having a toasted roll which smells incredible, but I must resist! Hugs for Bitsy and Lou and anyone else in need. I never updated you on my BIL, they cleared the blockage, and removed some tissue for biopsy purposes, and he is on steroids to reduce the size, so it all sounds quite positive, and the results from the biopsy will be back next week, he is home now and recovering and my sister is doing a bit better, although it seems to have just hit her, what she's been through these last few weeks.

    Anyhow................have a lovely day!

(((hugs))) Lou. Hope you have a goodish day today. When I had a period of not going out what I did was stand by the back door for 5 min with it cracked open and then over the weeks I got to standing in the open door and then over the weeks I went to outside in garden and then gradually moved up the garden to the back gate untill I could stand there with it open a crack and so on until I could walk from the back gate to the front door and in. Then I looked at walking to the corner and back and gradually I got out further and for longer. Took me a long time but I got there.

Had a day in bed yesterday as I was feeling so ill and DH sent me there. He has had a good go at takling the washing mountain and we are nearly at normal levels again. He has also sorted the back garden and it is ready for the gravel when we can afford it. He has also put herbs and salad stuff in the pots he has brought in from the front of the house so I will not have to buy that from supermarkets for a while . He has left 3 pots out the front and put wild flower seeds in them. He put all the daff and crocus bulbs in the earth at the side of the house that the kids round here use as a short cut and trample anything we put in there. He has also put what we think is a buddlia in there thst he found in the back garden and put a little 6" fence that Dad gave him. So hopefully we can make the side of the house looking a little better than the trampled bit of earth it is.

I didn't get a lot of sleep yesterday though as the covern and their brats were sat out the front of next door cackling away and smoking like chimneys. DH swept tons of fag ends up yesterday.

    Morning all,

Another lovely sunny day here, still breezy but just nice to dry the clothes I will put on the line as soon as the WM finishes. Going to go shopping then as not sure how long since we've been and the supply of veg other than lettuce, scallions and spinach is practically nil. Did intend to go swimming but DD4 not back from Cork so might go later on....will see.

Need to gut the downstairs en-suite at some stage to-day....not sure who has taken a herd of elephants in there but they have all left their mark! Would like to hoover and dust here as well as Kerry has eaten most of shoe here and left bits all over the place, there is lots of 'stuff' that has fallen behind the pc desk too, won't go tight to wall as it overlaps a bit with a radiator.

Glad to hear that your Dad is doing well Ruby....amazing what a bit of help at home can do.

Rosie....thoroughly agree about the coupon programme last night, would go mad (madder?) after a very short time I think...they do seem to get much better offers on coupons in US, but I am sure that they could be used more rationally to save money and sanity. Will probably watch it again for the entertainment value!

Thunder is driving me nuts as he wants attention all the time since Sile went walkabout....suppose he is lonely but sitting on the computer desk in front of screen is not where I need him at present.

Breakfast this morning has been porridge with cinnamon and half an apple, no milk as I really don't like skimmed milk so will limit milk consumption...just ate other half of appleand am having cup of boiled water....had tea earlier so didn't fancy anymore. Diet doctor gave me would have allowed me the porridge, just half the apple and skimmed milk, so made a little adjustment to suit me, really need to get this cholesterol level down as I really don't want medication.

Have a good day all, hugs to anyone in need or want....FTM, take it easy.
