DT, Greying has the rights of it - and I think you're getting it, aren't you - just doing the basics, paying attention to the important things of life. Take care - I hop on a fair bit still, I'm checking up on you, you know :D:D:D

  • Ummm, is it really sad that I actually quite like that idea :o

I notice a lot of us seem to be in the "be kinder to ourselves" mindset this year ... in whatever format that takes with each person.

When I started my new diary ... I felt like I also needed to do "stuff" for me but kept worrying that it would detract from the debt busting. But after reading a few other diaries .... I realised that if I didnt allow just a little time or money just for me - I'd fizzle out again, like I've done before. I think we all need a little something to help us on our journeys :A

Hope your energy catches up with you again soon DT, mines still only making a half-hearted effort to keep up with me :rotfl:

OK that's two people I am officially worried about :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: actually I am quite fond of coloured pens myself ;)

Yes GA I think the temptation is to get all out to debt bust because we just want rid but that is a recipe for a few months down the line saying sod it and having a big blow out

Energy is still lacking and now OH has taken himself off to bed so I am in charge ooh he has just got up I can feel a cappuccino coming on :T:T:T

Just keep hanging on in there GA that's about as much as I can do at the moment

:T No, not sad at all! Jump on board the OCD bus :rotfl:

Errr, excuse me, not just coloured pens, DT....coloured card. A different colour for each week :p with whole punched corners secured with purple ribbon......only the best for old fussy pants here :D (Just in case you were wondering, this week is lilac) It will obviously make shopping a far more enjoyable event :p

Being kinder to ourselves is definitely the way forward. It would be too much of a battle to survive long term otherwise.
One step at a time ;)
  • Purple ribbon now your are talking my language I am known as the purple lady in Uganda :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I do think you need a new hobby though I am very worried now mainly because I could never ever find the time to do anything like that :o

Anything that makes shopping more enjoyable has to be worth a go :T

    Hello your wooliness!

DT, I'm with you - I can't even make myself keep a spending diary, but I'm with you too, Hopeful - shopping has to feel good, or you (erm, I) can make some dreadful mistakes :)

Yes, you can include me in dreadful spending mistakes!!! I can't cope with a spending diary either, but I really need to tighten up on my spending. Since a change in circumstances I can only rely on my money and anything else i get has to be seen as a bonus. I've had to borrow to move and replace my car so there's a HUGE strain on my finances now. I am a stubborn devil and won't let it/people get me down (which is hard at times :o). I function far better with a plan and always have my little ones for motivation. So wish me luck, 'cause i've gotta stick with it now, otherwise it will be a waste of pretty card and ribbon...i hate waste :p

 Errrrm... is now a good time to mention that some people also keep spending diaries / income forecasts / income & outgoing spreadsheeds and debtpayment logs  Some even keep dreamboards with pictures of their little n large goals on .... including bells, whistles n coloured ribbons :o

I am just sooooo sad :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Think I'd best go crawl in a corner somewhere & hang my head with the shame of it all :p
