You must have felt so good doing those transfers, well done on what you've done so far. Having more available credit should help next year - especially as your credit report will show that you have had credit and paid it off, not that you've never had credit IFKWIM.
Nice to see you having some time for you and OH.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

What a fantastic post, DT! Making time for yourself, sheepy one sussing the pressies, paying off debt, positive plans as you go to sleep not bad stuff, how wonderful! I love all of that closing down of credit cards ... here's to a good mortgage rate.
The mortgage I still have is the euro one (haven't updated my sig in ages, oops) - so it was good news for me that the ECB put the bank rate back down again a little bit, as my rate is only fixed 3 months ahead.
Have a good day2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Wow DT, that is fantastic news!!!!! :j:j:j You will be making the credit card companies cry but your MSE supporters very happy with those reduced limits :rotfl:
I think more couples with busy lives should make time for "us" time, it is very important :T My cousin was married 25 years, had 4 children and when they left home to go to Uni she and her husband looked at each other, didn't know each other anymore and had nothing in common. So sad, they had spent years running around taking the children to various sporting activities, social things, homework, school etc and spent no time together and there was no way back:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -

That is so sad but unfortunately only too common - thankfully because of our various career choices we do spend a lot of time together but the quality is not always that good so this is us time been through my diary and there is only one clash on the allocated time and that is only one hour so we can cope with that and I will know not to make arrangements like that again OH has a monthly arrangement that he needs to try and change although the one for next Monday will have to stay but again it only impinges for about an hour so I will forgive him for that this month
Also have to move our shopping days as a trip to Mr. T's is not exactly what I have envisaged for us time :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Right I am off to do the final transfer to the offset account of our "salary" setting aside a specified amount each month and transferring it back to our current account has really made a difference because the temptation with being paid half yearly was to pay too much off the debts on pay day and then 5 months later run out of money this way I know we can still live without having to resort to CCs in the last month

Today I have done the money shuffle paying £6428.77 off our debts leaving us with a total CC debt of £8631.97 less than 10% of what it was at its highest :j:j:j:j:j:j:j
I can hardly believe our CC debt is in single figures and within the next 6 months it will be gone

Well done, DT - I so envy you (in a very positive way - I don't want to be there instead of you but either be you, or be there with you). But we shall get there - my 'gut' deadline is next May.

Well we will be crossing the finishing line together then  as we will have to wait until our next pay day the end of April and as again it will be by cheque it will be early May before I will be able to pay the last CC
