Whenever I download something on my iPhone I Have to put in my password to verify the purchase, could they change the password?

I think they might need to look into how the little one accessed the account. Food for thought.
If i could i would, but i cannot so i wont, but maybe one day i will.

I am pretty sure your mate will be liable as under 16's can't get a debitcard and giving a child access to an itunes account without password protecting the password is asking for trouble.

    I agree. An expencive lesson.

I don't think they stand a chance of a refund, but for future reference, tell them to delete their card details from their account.

That way, they can only download free stuff.

Tbh, apple seem less than caring over security issues, so I don't feel happy leaving my card details in their hands anyway - they seem to have a lot of hacked accounts.

If there was deceit involved (nicking parents debit card, using password without consent etc) then I'm afraid the little darling would be ebaying his/her iPod and clearing out their piggy bank to repay it pronto, plus some kind of punishment would also be in order for the sneakiness.

If it was simply a case of the child being stupid and not realising that stuff was being charged, I'd be working out a fair repayment plan: Paying installments out of pocket money, doing chores for cash and selling their old toys, console games and CD's to raise cash for example.

cancelling the card is a waste of time.. change the account login, delete card details and kick childs derriere!!!

They won't get the money back so they best sort something out with the child.. I'd sell their ipod for some of the money back.. then start on their other possessions.. and make them work off the debt in housework.. @ £1 an hour!!! lol
