DD has just bitten my head off. She said part of her arm was numb and I told her I could show her the bit where she was leaning on her elbow to cause that and she screeched at me.

So I turned the TV off.

She lost the plot, started yelling and then remembered an instant later that she had urgent homework that must be done on her laptop by tomorrow morning.

Told her that the laptop was taken away because she hadn't done her room properly and she would get it back when it was done.

She screamed and sobbed some more about how it must be done and how I didn't care that she couldn't do it at her Dad's because you can't email things to yourself or transfer them onto her mobile phone, blah, blah, blah...

So I asked her how it has jumped in importance from 'NOT AT ALL' when NCIS, Wizards of Waverley Place, iCarly, Scooby Doo and Hannah Montana were on the TV to 'MUST BE DONE THIS INSTANT TO THE EXCLUSION OF ALL ELSE OR LIFE AS WE KNOW IT WILL END' the instant I press standby on the remote.

She is currently cleaning her pit, stamping, wailing and sobbing at the unfairness of it all.

Remind me again why I was looking forward to her return?

Well, DH made two trips to the tip with "treasure" we've been carefully storing in our loft! Since we moved here some 28 years ago, we've regularly fed the monster, but clearly never taken everything out before! I expected to be hardly able to move with all the stuff now waiting to be replaced after the extra insulation is put in...not finished yet, but apart from Christmas tree and decs I really don't think there'll be more than a couple of plastic boxes at most to go back!! Why oh why didn't we chuck stuff out instead of storing it???
Done washing and cleaned up the kitchen, but most of this afternoon has been spent doing reading for my essay. Enough for now tho', my eyes and head hurt! Must be nearly G&T time??? Please?
    Resolution:
    Think twice before spending anything!

Decluttered some school work and dd has decluttered 3 ds games and got 2 new-to-us replacements.

Got  news though as some 'person' has removed some ridge tiles from our garage extension last night and has started to rip away the lead flashing between the garage and the roof. Have had to report it to try and get insurance to deal with it as it has left a hole in roof, police have got to see it or they won't do a crime ref. no (we have asked but they want to see it cos there has been a lot of it about round here recently), and then we can't get anyone out to it till tomorrow cos it's a bank holiday and all roofers/builders etc are quite rightly sat out in the sun enjoying a day off.

So night out watching Greg Davies is still on but I'm going with the babysitter while dh house sits, waits for police (can't imagine that will be anytime soon), and he is then threatening to lie in wait just in case whoever it was decides to have another go tonight - he has already had to take tomorrow off to try to get it fixed. Am a tad fed up, but also looking forward to hopefully a really funny night so:(:):D:Tall in one day!!!

Hi all and welcome Xevius :) Hunny I am the laziest person I know and am very good at procrastinating! This forum has helped me no end :) I too work full time and can find that I just feel too tired/CBA when I get home but I have started to write down the night before one small thing I would like to achieve the next evening after work and it honestly does feel good when I do it :) Don't put too much pressure on yourself and feel good about every step you achieve - no matter how small :) Remember - and this really is true - your home didn't become messy overnight and it won't become tidy overnight. It took little steps to get the way it is and likewise it will take little steps to get it to the way you want but small steps will get you there and you will be surprised when one day you turn around and notice the difference it's making :) Personally for the first time in my life I am really starting to enjoy it and trust me that is a HUGE thing for me!

Well I put the bedding on the washing line, (now dry), put another load in the WM, (which is now finished and ready to go on the line) and de-cluttered my spare ribs along with a lovely chocolate and nut magnum - mmm mmm :) Now it's time for me to carry on with my boxes :)
Be back in a bit :)
    Jenny x

Well, OH seems to have caught the mood and has mucked out the utility room, and done 2 trips to the tip and 2 loads of laundry while I was at the pub with the kids and a group of friends! (all female, which is why he didn't come - we always meet on Monday, and 2 of them have RAF husbands away flying at the moment so we met despite bank holiday today)

So I've managed levels 1 and 2 for front hall, back hall, utility room and about half the sitting room. Will do other half when kids in bed. 14m boy asleep on my lap, 3yr girl asleep on sofa so I'm guessing we'll be 2 for 2 down and out in the next 10 minutes!

DS2's room is finished :j:j. Every single box and bit of floor has been sorted and tidied. I've slung out loads. I've also hoovered, OH brought his over cause mine is still dead.

OH has had a strop and gone home because Ds2 isn't taking to bike riding very well and he's got no patience.

Ds1 has had a strop because i won't let him just eat the chicken kiev and leave the potatoes and veg.

I've also been informed that Ds1 hasn't got a clean school tshirt for tomorrow, despite being off for 2 weeks it hasn't made it to the washing basket.
