Tesco to end Tussauds Annual Pass

SUCCESS!! Thank you TESCO
I had £38 in vouchers and emailed tesco outlining exactly how cheated I felt with them changing the rules after the voucher mailout. Anyway they offered to accept my £38 and also take the remaining amount from my clubcard account.
They also explained that tussards was pulling the offer for them etc although i still think it was sneaky.. Jellyhead, send another email ClubCard.Deals@tescofreetime.comummm...0 -
result! well done :-) i only have £1 in vouchers though, the rest is in my account and we're going to alton towers twice next week so i suppose i'll have to buy the passes now anyway ... ho hum ... i suppose i could sell mine on ebay if i get them lol!!52% tight0

Although the Tussauds offer ends shortly if you have enough points you can still order a set for use next season as well as this season. :j
Just received my last ten Tussuads Passes (there are five of us) as the vouchers have a useby date of 31-10-05 enabling us to register five of them for this season and then register the other five on the 31-10-05 that will last until the last day of next season.
btw Collected my points by using Clubcard Plus for petrol and monthly shopping and moving to a single Tesco Visa Card for personal and business expense. With a 4 times Clubcard deal it works out as 8% back on the Clubcard Plus purchases and 2% back on all other purchases so the points add up. If you also look for Clubcard deals e.g. buy £20 of electrical get 1000 vouchers worth £40 of deals back (was on offer last year) or buy lifeinsurance get 4500 points worth £180 of Clubcard Deals (which was also on offer) the clubcard vouchers add up.0 -
they've tightened up the life assurance offer a lot since i did it. not so many points now and it's harder to cancel. i got mine just in time though :-) it says in the paperwork that norwich union pay a fee to tesco of more than 20.00 for each new customer, so norwich union are really losing out on those of us who only paid 2 £5 premiums then cancelled!!
another way to get points is buy something tiny and use a temporary paper clubcard (the ones for new customers) to pay for it, they give you a voucher for 100 points next time, you can use it with your ordinary card next time, you could maybe even transfer the points from the temporary card to your own account if you call them.52% tight0 -
i just got my clubcard statement from tesco and they have a new pass to replace the old deal - it's a 5 visit pass, valid for 6 months but not for firework events. why anyone would spend £70 on that when an annual pass is £80 and includes fireworks is beyond me, but perhaps this 5-visit pass is just for tesco customers and the £70 cost has been set because they want £17.50 in vouchers for it. we still have our annual passes but will start saving up points to get these 5-visit passes next year or the year after - it's not as good a deal as the annual pass for £20 in clubcard vouchers but it's still worth getting

The annual pass was great because it got you free parking at Alton Towers and early 'Season Ticket holder' entry into the park. Not sure if the replacement 5 visit pass will do the same.

The Annual Pass has moved over to Nectar, but it is 12,000 points - I posted a seperate thread on it a while ago, I think.
It is basically the same, but you have to apply in person at the venue.
The thing is, with normal spending on Nectar it would cost £6,000 of spending, whereas with Tesco Clubcard it only cost £2,000 - So the same item is 3 times dearer with Nectar, but suppose at least it is still free !!!???!!!0 -
Hey, good news - Tussauds Annual Pass is back at Tesco!!
I picked up the new Clubcard deals brochure yesterday and the deal is back - still has the same product code.
It is now £21.25 in points, as the Pass has gone up to £85 in real money, but at least it is within grasp, unlike collecting Nectar points.0 -
great isn't it

mind you the 5 visit pass has been a lark, you show them the voucher, they don't keep it or mark it at all, they just give you a barcoded ticket to get through the gate with, then if you don't exchange your voucher for a card that day nobody is any the wiser! means vouchers can be used more than 5 times and by different groups of friends etc. (not on the same day i suppose, although my mum did it last week, showing the voucher to get her ticket for the gate, then my brother showed the same voucher to get himself in too).
might only be alton towers you can get away with this, i've heard thorpe park takes your photo and gives you a pass.52% tight0
