Until I came on here I did not realise the importance of getting extra clubcards from tesco and even Sainsburys nectar cards.

The rest of us on here have several clubcards. I have 3, one for me, one for my DS and one for OH. I keep them in my bag and tend to use only 1 of them but then every now and then I use one of the others. This usually gives you more till spits but also more coupons in the mailings we get from Tesco.

The same for Sainsburys, more till spits and more coupons and points from the mailings.

So its a win - win situation for us.

Thanx for this - I never thought about having multiple cards to get more coupons - my OH is constantly forgetting to take mine when he goes so think I will just register one in his name and out it in his wallet so no excuse! T can be very funny about only putting the points on from 2 receipts at a time

    Hi PartMouse,

The pet man didn't know if it was a boy or a girl because of it's age, but we are leaning towards it being a girl (not really basing it on anything other than gut feeling and loud, shrieky squawk ;)).

Any ideas why it would want to go head-down, belly-up on the feeder perch?

    this might be helpful Jonty

Morning Mad, Jeferey, CW and Everyone :hello:
Bit of a long one this morning but it is coupon-related - sort of;)

DD has decided that, after 12 months in her own home, it is time she had her own pet that she is wholly and totally responsible for. After lots of heartsearching, along with in-depth research on the pro's and con's of different animals - kitten, rabbit etc - and the practicalities of looking after them, she finally decided on ..... a budgie :).

Now, don't get me wrong, I love budgies but, although we have had an array of animals and birds (dogs, cats, hens etc) over the years, the children have only really dealt with the 'nice' bits. They loved taking the dog for a walk (on warm, sunny days) and collecting the eggs from the hens, but give them a shovel and ask them to clean up after any of the animals and you wouldn't see them for dust.

Anyway, she went against my advice that "you can't really go wrong with a goldfish as your very own, totally responsible for, first pet" and chose this sweet, if somewhat timid-looking young budgie. Talk about appearances being deceptive. This nice, quiet, sweet, timid little thing has turned into an absolute tyrant

It has gone from emitting the odd cute little 'chirrup' when it sees her, to erupting into an ear-piercing series of squawks (she was hoping to have deep and meaningful conversations such as 'Who's a pretty boy?") Instead of daintily pecking it's seed, it now hurls it out of the feeder, all over the cage and then squawks at her again . It also seems to be on some suicidal mission as it keeps trapping itself upside-down, belly-up between the feeder and the attached perch:eek:

Now, I'm putting it down to attention seeking but have suggested she spends more time trying to bond as it may be missing the other budgies it was with at the pet shop but when she tries to stroke it, it goes one of two ways - it either turns its back on her, stretches out a wing and a leg and ignores her or, tries to rip her finger off . (She wouldn't have had these problems with a goldfish! ;))

Does anyone know if we have a 'stroppy budgie thread' anywhere on these boards, where she could discuss her problems and concerns with peeps in a similar situation?

So now my -'coupon related' question :D does anyone know any bird food manufacturers who are happy to send coupons / vouchers out to budgie-lovers and are there any vouchers around for psychological counselling for stressed out budgies and their owners? :)

we had a budgie when i was young and i remember that putting a mirror in the cage was done so the budgie thought it had a companion, toys also help stop them from getting bored hth

Thanks, last question hopefully, we have use of 5 laptops will they all have the same ip address

I think if you hang around on here you will realise almost everyone has more than one computer/laptop and if they use them at home then they have the same ip address.

Some peeps print them at work (if the boss allows it) some from friends and relatives houses too.

Hi I have seen some have used the country life coupon successfully on block rather than the spreadable, has anyone done it successfully in Tesco??
    Thanks

Yes, just had my coupons accepted for countrylife blocks in Tesco this morning.

£10.18 total spend, less fairy and countrylife coupons, plus an RTD voucher, left me just 6p to pay :j

And submitting that receipt, should give me £5.70 back on a further RTD :)

Point to note though, the self service tills only happily accepted 2 coupons, before the rest had to be authorised by the SA.

    Well, to todays shop.

DS took me but said he only has time to take me to Asda. Got 3 more huggies boxes, and 4 of the packets of pure wipes, and 4 airwick sprays, together with a load of reduced stuff.

The huggies boxes (£3) scanned at £5 as expected, used 4 x £1 of the wipes coupons, didn't scan as no barcode but no problem SA just inputted them as manufactures coupon and the £1 airwick coupons scanned without problem. Anyway my shop was around £35 and after all my coupons and a couple of asda price guarantee coupons I actually paid £2.10.

DS went a wombling again for me but only found 4 receipts and only 2 were worth anything. Don't laugh but one was worth 1p, yes, 1 pence, so didn't bother to print it but the other one was worth £1.29.

DS then decided I had been really quick in Asda so he can spare 1/2 hour to go to Tesco after all. Got the curry sauce x 2 using coupons, 4 lots of cat food using coupons, £1 finish coupon off dishwasher cleaner reduced to £1.49,plus a few other coupons and one of my £20 dtd coupons. Shopping £40.20 paid £2.60 ish.

So to sum it all up for the newbies that we can still save a fortune using coupons, I got almost £80 of shopping for less than £5.

So newbies, stick with us and join in the fun of saving money at the supermarkets expense.
