Morning Mad, Jeferey, CW and Everyone :hello:
Bit of a long one this morning but it is coupon-related - sort of;)
DD has decided that, after 12 months in her own home, it is time she had her own pet that she is wholly and totally responsible for. After lots of heartsearching, along with in-depth research on the pro's and con's of different animals - kitten, rabbit etc - and the practicalities of looking after them, she finally decided on ..... a budgie.
Now, don't get me wrong, I love budgies but, although we have had an array of animals and birds (dogs, cats, hens etc) over the years, the children have only really dealt with the 'nice' bits. They loved taking the dog for a walk (on warm, sunny days) and collecting the eggs from the hens, but give them a shovel and ask them to clean up after any of the animals and you wouldn't see them for dust.
Anyway, she went against my advice that "you can't really go wrong with a goldfish as your very own, totally responsible for, first pet" and chose this sweet, if somewhat timid-looking young budgie. Talk about appearances being deceptive. This nice, quiet, sweet, timid little thing has turned into an absolute tyrant
It has gone from emitting the odd cute little 'chirrup' when it sees her, to erupting into an ear-piercing series of squawks (she was hoping to have deep and meaningful conversations such as 'Who's a pretty boy?") Instead of daintily pecking it's seed, it now hurls it out of the feeder, all over the cage and then squawks at her again . It also seems to be on some suicidal mission as it keeps trapping itself upside-down, belly-up between the feeder and the attached perch:eek:
Now, I'm putting it down to attention seeking but have suggested she spends more time trying to bond as it may be missing the other budgies it was with at the pet shop but when she tries to stroke it, it goes one of two ways - it either turns its back on her, stretches out a wing and a leg and ignores her or, tries to rip her finger off . (She wouldn't have had these problems with a goldfish!)
Does anyone know if we have a 'stroppy budgie thread' anywhere on these boards, where she could discuss her problems and concerns with peeps in a similar situation?
So now my -'coupon related' questiondoes anyone know any bird food manufacturers who are happy to send coupons / vouchers out to budgie-lovers and are there any vouchers around for psychological counselling for stressed out budgies and their owners?

Extreme Wombling:
Just been t's spend a dtd on pepsi max £2-4-8, driving out saw a reciept, i actually saw the barcode on the bottom so drove back in spotted it blowing on the roundabout, stopped next to it, opened car door n it had gone, blew away. Anyhow, this was not a battle, parked car and went off to find it, stood there n it blew in front me and stuck to my trainer in the wind.... 26 points after lil chase...SIMPLES!0 -

That sounds so like our situation with our new pet - a manic kitten. honestly a complete maniac and I have to admit I regretted rescuing her. But she was young and is so improving with age. The only thing that has helped liked you suggested was more attention and more toys as she was bored!! I know it's a completely different animal but maybe it is just an age/new home thing? Best of luck anyway....:oThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Has anyone seen my T's receipt?
It blew out of my hand and I last saw it headed towards the roundabout on the way out of the store. It has 26 points and a barcode on the bottom.

Hi, do the packs of 8 cans of Pepsi in Tesco have the competition on?A home is not a home ..... without a dog0 -
Thanks Rachelja,
Personally, I think she should have started with a goldfish as they don't bite or verbally abuse you but hey, what do mum's know?
Glad your kitten is settling down.

Does anyone know if the squirty cream coupon has finished please - just tried the link but it is telling me it has not been found and, if so, may need updating on first page.
