  • Hello everyone!

I don't think I have been around since February!! Just not had much time as I have just finished my last year of university and had essays, exams and my dissertation. Am finally finished now though!

I am planning on creating a new list later on today to get me back on track! I haven't really been buying anything, I did buy new foundation on Friday but thats because mines ran out. And instead of my usual £20 Mac one I picked up a £4 Collection 2000 one!! That a massive change for me!! Not entirely sure if I like it or not yet, only used it for the first time yesterday, so we'll see how my skin takes to it over the next week of so.

Anyways I am off to make up my new list!
  • Four more OUTs for me:

    Boots Cotton Wool Pads
    - WBA as they do the variety of jobs I use them for, like applying toner and taking off my nail polish, but I do already have some in the stash so no need to restock just yet!

Lush Vanishing Cream - WBA as it does work and is nicely moisturising whilst helping to keep my skin (relatively) spot free. The only issue is it can smell a bit weird depending on the batch, but I can overlook a slightly earthy smell for a product that works.

Tresemme Moisture Rich shampoo and conditioner sample - WBA as it smelt nice and worked really well in making my hair soft and shiny but not weighing it down too much.

So this means I've hit my target of using up ten things this month! :) I'm going to keep pushing on and try to get rid of another four things this month, which would take me to 55 for the year as a whole and mean I had a smaller target next month, as I seem to be having months of quick hits and then ones where I don't use up so much. I've also decided I'm going to sell a few of my nail polishes that I don't love which will both reduce the stash and put more money in my savings fund.

Marzipan - There are quite a few around just now. Can't believe the price for some of the individual travel bottles & tubs. You might want to consider buying a travel set. Boots have them for around £8 whilst M & S have them for £5 ish.

I have a some from SD which I found to be really poor quality and cheap looking. So I bought the marks set and have been using them regularly for the last 18months. Good quality with a range of spray, pump nozzels too.

I also have some from Muji which are very well made with a range of sizes.

Forgot to mention I UU one of my splutterers. Clinique superbalanced foundation in fair. WIBA - I have another 2 superbalanced in the next shade down Ivory that I use when my face gets a little bit of colour in Spring/Summer so the timing is great. I will be looking at a more affordable alternative for replacements later in the year.

I am now off the the cinema - I think it will be the new pirates film followed by a nice dinner out. :D

    Enjoy Pirates Fiasco!

Can anyone recommend a good concealer? I currently use Benefit Boi-ing, which I love but can't really justify the price at the moment. I normally get some in Duty Free but not off on hols til Oct and will run out by then! I have oily skin, and use concealor on spots and dark circles. I'd prefer one that is long lasting as don't get chance to check my make-up in day as I'm too busy at work!

I have spent the afternoon sorting out the stash in the bathroom. I have filled one bin bag so far, and dusted and moved most of the rest to an orderly cupboard in my (flown) daughter's bedroom. The dust accumulated was horrendous, but it did push me to clean the blind in there as well (long soak in the bath with stardrops, old sock both hands clean down, rinse with cold shower, hang back up to dry over tiled shelf, finally rub down with fabric conditioner on another old glove in the hope that it won't attract so much dust).

I have even more merchandise than I remembered. Some I just binned because it's so old but most of it is unopened. At a rough guess I would say I have fifty shower gel type products, a couple of bath oils (a bit dangerous, so rarely use) and around fifty moisturisers. I will just have to start using them much less sparingly! I have yet to investigate what's lurking in my bedroom but other than (maybe) some hair conditioner I think I could go for five years without another purchase. Why do we do this? Is it some sort of insecurity issue?

I had already solved the deodorant supply. I gave up the spray-ons a couple of years ago as they caused so much mess and changed to roll-ons. I then read about the Salt of the Earth stones from Holland and Barrett and thought I would give them a chance and much to my surprise they work amazingly well. No white marks ever again!

Back to the bathroom. I think I will have a go at the medicine cupboard as there are all sort of verrucca treatments, black head ointments, etc. which will never be used again now the children are away. I half wondered what I could fill it with - but maybe I'll just have a half-empty cupboard for a while!

Just had another OUT - Boots Acetone Free Nail Polish Remover. Possibly WBA as it worked OK with a bit of effort, although I must admit I kind of don't want to do that with a nail polish remover - I feel like it should glide over the nail and take the polish off cleanly and quickly rather than me having to scrub to get rid of the scraps. For just over a quid though you can't complain.
