    I
    - made cheese straws rather than walked to T to buy some snacks
    - pulled up some local dandelions and picked some of my herbs to give guinea pigs rather than go to T to buy them some bits
    - washed-up by hand rather than using DW
    - used old washing up water to water plants
    - made a loaf of bread (I've not bought a loaf since I got the breadmaker 2 months ago)
    - used recycled newspapers to line guinea pig 'palace'
    - emptied the basket of Bodyshop bits I did online this morning (didn't need to buy any of it, despite the special offer)
    - managed a NSD today

  • Went to car boot this morning (up at 5.30am on a rare day off, must be mad!) but it was really hard work as people just seem to want everything for nothing these days, even had people quibbling over 10p items! I`d priced stuff cheap to get rid but brought loads back. Still made £30 aftter the pitch was paid which is better than nothing and has cleared some junk out.

Same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago - I know people want a good deal but they were offering 50p for brand new items that cost around £20.

I did make a small profit (try to always have the "cover the costs & anything a bonus" head on) which paid for a set of desperately needed hedge cutters.

However, it's really frustrating when you've been up since the crack of dawn & had a really long day to have people wanting things for nothing (I find the last hour is particularly bad and most venues won't let you leave before the end).

Loads of stuff still left in boxes to take to the next one (when I recover)!

Pernicious - hope you get on OK at the vets

Has anyone had an MRI scan? I've to go on Weds but am absolutely DREADING it as I'm really claustrophobic.

    See you later!:D

Thank you we have another appointment on Thursday now but all up to date financially, so that's good!

I haven't had an MRI scan personally but if you're nervous I'd suggest just letting them know & hopefully they'll make it a bit easier on you somehow! Hope it goes ok x

Hi folks , we are on a rapid descent on our rollercoaster life at the moment. Difficult times ahead but mum is heading over monday to look after DD for a few days as I have to work regardless. :(

Still trying not to put too much on the cards but have done some comfort shopping and not enough saving this month. I have a lot of big spends coming up - DD is 18 soon and want to get her something special , Central heating boiler is 25 year old and could go anytime and the Oven is 21 and no longer cooks properly - it is imperial and can't simply slot a new one in.

Plan is to raise as much as I can over the next few months towards the oven refit whilst we are happy with salads etc. DDs present will come from a cheque I am expecting then work like hell to raise 2.5k for the heating.

Sounds like things are pretty tough at the moment, I hope your luck starts to change soon & your DD is ok x
    Hi everyone

Money situ isn't v good for me right now. Boo. Most of it is on 0% until Septemberish so not so bad but those unexpected spends have really messed up all my planning. Think I'm going to use savings to clear it so I can pay my savings back rather than running up interest.

Well Martin does always say to pay off debts rather then keep savings, makes sense rather then shelling out however much in interest, I hope things start to look up again soon x

Things were a bit crazy here yesterday - the royal wedding kept it pushed out of the news but there were huge and violent riots in Kampala yesterday. Im fine but was stuck at a conference center for a good few hours before things calmed down and I could get home. Anyway, its all settled down now.

Crikey that must have been scary! Glad you're ok though & things have settled down!

I have sorted all my budget sheets out for april and ready for may now, and i had more come in than goes out and cleared £655 of debt, well pleased with that

Well done, keep up the good work! :T
