    Hi everyone

Money situ isn't v good for me right now. Boo. Most of it is on 0% until Septemberish so not so bad but those unexpected spends have really messed up all my planning. Think I'm going to use savings to clear it so I can pay my savings back rather than running up interest.

    Small things:
    • Gave back borrowed car; put in £10 petrol
    • Walked into town and back
    • Bought sparkling water - cheaper than cans of coke
    • £2 coin for my stash :D
    • Looking at flights to South Africa for next April!!! :j:j But think we're looking at about £800 each.:eek:
    • Chilling out with some tv tonight
    • Call mum with free wknd mins
Can't think of much/any more. All going a bit pants here money-wise :(

Hi folks , we are on a rapid descent on our rollercoaster life at the moment. Difficult times ahead but mum is heading over monday to look after DD for a few days as I have to work regardless. :(

Still trying not to put too much on the cards but have done some comfort shopping and not enough saving this month. I have a lot of big spends coming up - DD is 18 soon and want to get her something special , Central heating boiler is 25 year old and could go anytime and the Oven is 21 and no longer cooks properly - it is imperial and can't simply slot a new one in.

Plan is to raise as much as I can over the next few months towards the oven refit whilst we are happy with salads etc. DDs present will come from a cheque I am expecting then work like hell to raise 2.5k for the heating.

Hey Picasso, sorry to hear that. :( Have you got a slow cooker? They're awesome. I lived without a cooker for about 6 months. Loads of people seem to think that slow cookers are only good for stews etc in the winter but I think they're great for summer too - for a start they only heat your food and don't heat up the rest of the house. I know when my oven is on the rest of the place can get unbearably hot. :grouphug:

Yeah got a slow cooker , the oven still functions sort of... just does not cook evenly so certain things are a disaster now, like cakes :( and sometimes when DD cooks food it needs finishing in the microwave as she forgets things have to be left for longer. I'm gonna leave it as long as I can - just DD gets stressed out by little things atm :(

    Hi everyone!

So cute that DNMS and stitchy are hanging out together!

Sorry to hear things are tough, Picasso. Could you borrow or buy a cheap hotplate to warm things up?

Things were a bit crazy here yesterday - the royal wedding kept it pushed out of the news but there were huge and violent riots in Kampala yesterday. Im fine but was stuck at a conference center for a good few hours before things calmed down and I could get home. Anyway, its all settled down now.

    Anyway, today I:
    • went out for very cheap lunch (about £1 ethiopian food)
    • walked home afterwards
    • bought some veg in the market rather than at the super market
    • watched rented movie with roomates. We rented it from a tiny little shack up the road - new cheap entertainment! about 20p a rental
    • checked banking and updated budget

    Tomorrow I:
    • will do all the work I've been putting off so far
    • will go with roomate to the craft market to get something to make the house feel a bit more lived in
    • will check banking and move some money to savings

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, all!

They wouldn't mind it, both of them love water and watch me wash up and have also tried to get in the washing up bowl as well :rotfl:
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

    Morning all!

Still very windy here - the dog walk was quite chilly and its definitely colder than it looks - still nice though.

    Today is a quiet day...
    • One load of washing and dry naturally done
    • All food from stores done
    • Walk dog again done
    • Stick to diet done
    • Do some schoolwork - not too much to do for the coming week - a couple of hours work at most done
    • Dye hair - very grey roots at the moment - not a good look
    • Clean upstairs done
    • Watch new Vera on TV tonight - I like Brenda Blethyn
    • Update spending diary done
    • Try to have NSD although I may need more antihistamines - very sniffy today and just taken last tablet not done - spent £3 on hayfever stuff and a packet of diet ice lollies
    • Tidy conservatory - still ignoring it!
That's all for now - nothing very exciting to report!
  • Already done:
    • Checked banking
    • Moved money into various pots for budgetting
    • Updated expenses spreadsheet
    • Made HM beef burgers

    To do:
    • Inventory of freezer
    • [STRIKE]Meal plan for month (should only need fresh fruit/veg/lunches/milk etc)[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Washing - lovely day so will dry outside[/STRIKE]
    • Find somewhere new to go next week that's low cost (on hols)
    • [STRIKE]Take dog somewhere nice for a walk[/STRIKE]Almost wish I hadn't - he was VERY naughty!
    • [STRIKE]Water veg (peas, lettuce, spinnach & raddishes in)[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Prepare veg planter for runner beans which have just sprouted in their seedling pots[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Sort some stuff to list on e*bay[/STRIKE]
    • Bath dog at some point (new medicated shampoo which is working wonders on his skin but have to leave it on for 10 mins which he hates - rolls around in the garden and ends up really muddy)!
    • Pay cc bill:(

Picasso - sorry to hear things are difficult, chin up. Your oven sounds like it's gone like mine did - even though it was a fan and was supposed to cook quicker than a "normal" one, it took hours to cook anything through. I kept at it for a while until I managed to get a new one on a really good offer.

Catmiaow - wow, impressed, my cats would NEVER venture into the shower. One used to fall in the bath when she was wee and now won't come in the bathroom at all!

Nottoobadyet - hope things have settled down again, it must be really unnerving having riots near you.

Well, another beautiful day here - I'm now in the process of scouring the house for things to wash while the weather's good - have moved onto winter coats etc so I can store these away for the summer.

Need to find somewhere new to take Mr B for his walk today, all the "usual" beaches will be heaving as it's a hol weekend and a nice day. Went somewhere OK yest but he was very naughty:eek: so will need to stay clear of there unfortunately as don't want a repeat today!

    Have a good one everyone:D
