Hi Bernard828,
I've checked my contract of employment and there's nothing in mine to say about entering into an IVA. Mind you, my contract is 11 years old and I dont think IVA's were out when I first started in the civil service! Lol - that makes me sound so old!
OH has been in the civil service for 13 years, no doubt his will be exactly the same as mine!
Thanks for your kind words and support, OH and I feel so much better talking to other members of this board. The support here is just awesome!
Speak soon

Hi, hope you're ok after reading through the thread. it took me back reading your post, i cried buckets, you're not alone. you'll feel much better once you've decided what you are going to do.
i couldn't sleep,then when i did i had nightmares about the debt.
things have got better, they will for you too, just hang on in there, hug x0 -
You have so done the right thing by going with CCCS. I am 6 months away from being debt free and could not have done it without their support. Once I had my plan set up a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders and I was free to answer the door, the phone and the post. I couldn't believe how long I had struggled on on my own and how it permeated every aspect of my life. I was deeply depressed and now I feel great. Everytime I got a letter from anyone I just either rang my advisor or popped it in the post for her to deal with. They have been brilliant. I went back to a basic account to get back on track and now have my new debit card. I was on Income Support when all this startedand through it all I have actually joined the Civil Service and my financial situation has never been questioned. CCCS will make you feel the burden is manageable and they don't charge unlike some non charitable companies who actually profit from your misery. Well done you.:)0

Thanks for message of support.
I also have nightmares about the debt when I finally drop off to sleep! I'm hoping that now we have had our first telephone appointment with CCCSVA I will now be able to sleep a little better. Its a weight lifted off my mind.
I know we are doing the right thing and hopefully all of this should be settled by the end of July!:rotfl:
Huge hug to you chick for taking you down memory lane! Sorry!

Hi Alex21,
Thank you for work kind words!
Well done you for getting through this! I bet these last 6 months can't come quick enough for you! You have really turned your life around for the better!:T
The lady OH and I spoke to was very good, she explained everything and we were able to ask questions at any time throughout the telephone interview.
Next week we should start to receive more info through the post and then we have another telephone appointment on the 16th May!
Hopefully, this is the start of us taking control of our lives and not the debt controlling us!
Take care. xx:j0
