Halifax direct reward ISA

I guess this means that you are using Internet Explorer 9?
IE9 doesn't work with lots of websites, so try using a different browser.
The correct interest rate will not show until a day or two after the account has been funded. It'll only ever show 2.8%, since the extra 0.2% is only calculated at the end of the year if you've met the additional current account conditions.
[Thumbsupsmiley] Yes, that was the problem, I usually check accounts through FD's account management programme, which only works through IE. Normally use Firefox at home.
Only IE8 here at work, so 2.8% (which was what I was hoping for) and 3.0% (ahead of when I was expecting it) for the Saver and ISA, respectively.I came, I saw, I saved.

We transferred one ISA each in December, that went OK and Promise interest appeared after about 4 weeks (backdated). In March and April we each transferred in another 2 old ISAs, but as of today, no Promise interest has been added though we are both due a few days on each one.
We have been abroad, so unable to chase this up other than by e mail, which only elicited the usual "ring us or visit branch" response..........both of which we had pointed out were not options.
It will be 2 months soon since the final transfers, surely they should have added the interest by now?
My promise interest took about 10 weeks to be put into the account.
However, it was backdated to the date that the transfer arrived, so I don't lose out on anything.0 -
It's now been 2 months since I converted my Direct Reward 3 into a Direct Reward 4 and it's still showing as Direct Reward 3 (2.8%).
I've called them 3 times already, each time they've just said that it's due to heavy demand and that the interest would be back-dated to when I first converted the account so it didn't really matter. I'm a bit sceptical about this, especially since I won't even know what interest rate I'm really getting until I get the interest payment next year. In the most recent call (about 2 weeks ago) I was told I'd been put on a "fast track" or something to get it done quickly. This is really stupid as I've seen others say that they were converted within a day or two.
Anything I can do that would get this done other than calling them again? Maybe writing to them (this worked with Lloyds TSB)?0 -

I transferred an ISA from Santander to Halifax at the end of the last tax year. All went smoothly, apart from the 'promise' interest.
I've called up a few times to chase/find out what is going on, and every time I've been told they've emailed the dept/ there are delays etc. Which is fine, I've only continued to chase when the time-frame I've been told has elapsed.
Until today when the lady I spoke to at Halifax told me that the interest is just added at the end of the tax year. I made sure she realised I was talking about the interest during the transfer being sorted out but she insisted this was the case (and apparently even checked with her manager). Did I get it wrong?! (I politely told her I didn't think this was the case and that I might call back to speak to someone else)

She is incorrect.
The 'promise' interest will be added at some point soon, but backdated to the date the transfer took place.
I would just leave it for now, there is no benefit to getting it sooner (unless you are wanting to transfer out from the Halifax ISA?).
If it's not there by August, then contact them again, and if necessary, use their complaints procedure.0 -
Thanks rb10 - I was pretty sure I was right but I started to doubt myself as she was so adamant!
I've only been ringing back as I've been told it'll be done in x days, and I call via the 0113 number so I can use my free minutes :money:
I'll leave it a few more weeks - not transferring out or anything, just think they should be able to get it one within a couple of months (or at least tell me a realistic timescale).
When its in I'll be tempted to point out that there is a training issue (manager should definitely have more of a clue about the product imo).0 -

You have to go into the account you're transferring from and push the 'transfer' button. Your ISA should then come up as an option to transfer to.0 -
Sorry to resurrect this again but I was wondering if anyone could clear the whole ISA promise interest issue up for me.
I opened an ISA direct Reward on the 21/3/11 and handed in the ISA transfer form to a branch that day. The transfer itself is recorded on my halifax online banking as arriving into the ISA on 30/3/11.
I was paid some interest on the 5/4/11 which when I calculated it, works out to be the interest earned from 30/3/11 to 5/4/11 (i.e. when there was actual funds in the account). I have not yet received any interest for the promise period (i.e. from 21/3/11 to 30/3/11).
I called halfix today and asked about this and was told that this "promise interest" will be paid at the end of the reward period i.e. march 2012. Is this correct? as some of the posts above seem to suggest that it should appear as a separate interest payment.0 -
