Halifax direct reward ISA

Thanks for clarifying but the Halifax site doesn't actually say anything about how to pay new money by BACS (if you don't have another Halifax account, that is). All it says is "Easy access: you can manage your account and make deposits in branch. View your savings online 24/7 and transfer money between your own Halifax accounts." It says elsewhere "Access by telephone, or online (transfer money between your own Halifax accounts, view balance and recent transactions). Deposits can be made in branches."
So I took that to mean new deposits and withdrawals must be done at a branch.
Are you saying that I can log into my Halifax ISA account and transfer money in from, say, my HSBC account by BACS?
Withdrawals: By telephone. Or online by transferring to Halifax Web Saver Reward (open with £1) or any Halifax current account - then BACS / Faster Payments it on to HSBC or wherever else you want it to go. Branch withdrawals are not available.0 -
Thanks cinq0 and opinions4u.
That's clear now - must write that on my paperwork for future reference!0 -
Yes, they are different accounts.
He can change the account to the ISA Direct Reward by putting his account details at www.halifax.co.uk/isaupgrade.
He should make a diary note for a year's time to review the account again, as the high interest rate only lasts for a year.
Oh brilliant, thank you so much for that. I didn't think existing customers would be able to do that. I've just completed my form for my own ISA with Halifax as I've been 'robbed' with 0.5% for not paying close enough attention.Debt free other than a mortgage but still always wanting to save money :j.

I assume that's the account your father holds.
That's what I concluded after some further research. My own ISA is that too so I've just completed the redesignation form online.

From their ISA Promise:3. All cash ISAs will be available to all customers, new and existing.
So you'll be able to do the same thing in future years as well (assuming that Halifax are still the most competitive then).0 -
My ISA direct reward 12 month was up on the 7th may and i gave instructions on the 4th over the phone to carry over to a new one 3%,told there is a backlog and it could take some time,it now shows online as ISA saver direct 0.5%.i think its a poor show for a internal ISA transfer,i could understand it more from 1 bank to another.:T0

Can someone who has the Halifax Direct Reward Isa tell me please as I want to take out one of these and transfer previous years, by what method do you withdraw or deposit into or out of the acc.. I don't have any other Halifax acc and I assume there is no passbook with these accounts so do you just fill in a paying in slip at the counter ? how about withdrawals? So glad I read this thread as I assumed wrongly I'd be able to set up a DD into the ISA from my Santander acc.. I don't have a branch that closeby so its going to be a pain to have to go to a branch each time..#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j
