If this is your only worry about him then i would forget it

As for your song why don't you sit and chose something together for your first dance then maybe "allow" that song to be played later :)

It hardly says he has violent tendencies. At their peak, Guns N' Roses were the biggest band on the planet. Their debut album, Appetite for Destruction, was certified platinum 15 times and set (not sure whether it still holds) the world record for debut album sales. Much of GnRs material deals with mature and occasionally violent themes but listening to it does not make an individual violent. I listen to all sorts of bands from melodic southern rock, to thrash metal, some of whom put out aggressive or violent-themed material but I myself am not a violent person.

What I am, however, is mature enough to know when something is appropriate and 'I Used to Love Her' at a wedding really isn't that appropriate. Furthermore, even if it were a more love themed song, such as 'Patience' or 'Sweet Child O' Mine' it would be inappropriate if my partner did not want it played.

How it became to be "your" song should be what you are questioning. What specific incident in your relationship was this song a part of that apparently elevates it to some sort of special status? The song is about someone killing their OH because the OH was driving them insane with their constant complaining. Does he think you complain a lot?

I think get a grip when a song tells you nothing only the mental state of the writer not the person listening to it.

I like Axel Rose but I'd be checking your boyfriend has taken out any life assurance policy for you!

At least he isn't suggesting "Smack your b1tch up" by The Prodigy...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Really? You think it may mean he has violent tendancies?Maybe he thought it would be 'fun' in a bit of a rebelious 'we like to do things differently' way,or he just loves it or,being male,he's got a little pang of fear over romancey stuff.

Ask him why. Then talk about alternatives.

Some people like to do things differently, heck I want Agadoo played at my funeral and expect everyone to dance:D

Hello

I don't know what to do, i really love my boyfriend, but he says our song is Iused to love her (Guns n roses) - for those that don't know it the words are I used to love her, but i had to kill her, i had to put her six feet under and i can still hear complain.

For it to be your song as a couple you both need to like it.

More to the point surely if you are thinking of marrying this bloke you are not baseing your entire view of him on his musical taste, or lack of.

How long have you known him? My advice would be to have a very long engagement.
