firewire/usb help please

When you plug it into the usb port of a PC, does another drive letter appear in explorer, or new hardware found come up?

It will play back on the tv no problem through the camera. Have even thought of buying LOADS of sd cards and using them as tapes if you know what I mean!

did it come with a driver disk? What happens if you go through the new hardware wizard?

Good sign. Unfortunately if there is no Firewire port on the camera then there's no point in looking at firewire solutions, so you'll have to stick with trying to sort it out with USB.

It came with about 7 discs and as soon as I plug it in they all activate at once. It was back in June I gave up with the disc malarky because even my friend who knows everything (well he thinks he does!!) couldn't get it to work I gave up. It seems to be that the usb is too slow to transfer the information but thats probably not possible. I even had it plugged in for 6 hours to transfer 10 mins of footage and the batteries gave up in the camera and they cost me a small fortune!! Now when I try it (which i did about 3hrs ago it just kept coming up error. The hardware found bit didn't come up that time.

#16 I know this sounds thick but i honestly thought that you would be able to buy a little adaptor thing you could connect the 2 together. Well never mind eh? I'll just buy a few more 2GB sd cards to keep me going! HA HA

If the drivers are installed properly, it shouldn't come up with new hardware wizard. The camera does sound like a bit of a pup, a mini-DV camera might have been a better option, I think the gadget show are doing a bit on cheap DV cameras on Mon night Ch5..

How old is your computer? Do you have XP? It may be you have USB 1.1 ports which are vastly slower than USB 2.0.

Thanks for all your help I think we should buy one of the dvd camcorders that do it all for you because I can't believe all the hassle with this one!! Just gutted because we had a holiday back in March and it was brill and wanted to give the people we were with a copy. I'm gonna watch C5 for a laugh .......... worst camera ........ zennox 5660!!!
Now I have £70 worth of dvd recorder, £10 of dvd discs, £10 firewire and £80 camera not to mention my wee stash of sd cards that is worth zilch HA HA never mind might flog them on ebay!!!
