  • Hi I didn't quite make my target in April but hey ho! I think I'm gonna go for 13 in May - why not eh? Have discovered minimalism so since then not spending has been a breeze!

  • Wow, I can't believe May's thread is on the go already - where is the time going!

Lovely to see new faces around - welcome to everyone.

Didn't quite make April's target but prepared to bounce back and storm through May.

OD has remained under £900 for the 2nd month in a row:D but didn't manage to pay anything else off it. Seem to have spent an awful amount of money this month as just opened cc statement and nearly had heart failure :eek::eek:- it will be cleared in full but I'll only have £50 "odds n sods" money to last the month so will need to be extra careful.

Was a bit lax with the spending diary during April (lots of spends as lots of birthdays) so will be keeping a stern eye on myself.;)

Spoon welcome back - going to aim high and try for 15  please.

Oh look, there's one of the horseguard chappies looking very worried....what's he saying? He's lost his horse? Well you'll have a job finding it in this crowd, matey! What are you sniggering at, Igor? Igor??? You didn't!!! Oh my giddy aunt...don't touch the burgers, people! You wait till I get you home, Igor, there's going to be trouble about this, I can tell you......where's that Mistress Spoon and the Tardis when you need them?

Hi everyone, i have only done this challenge once before in the past but im going to try again for may. I have 3 birthdays in may, my sister and my 2 sons so i cant get out of not buying them nothing. But i would like to try and do 10 nsds by not nipping to the shop with my boys to buy them sweets and end up spending over £5 lol. I will try my best and hopefully i do well as this month i really do want to stop smoking (again).
    GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

    Hello everyone,

I've not been 100% on top of my MSE ways in April, and missed my target, only 16 out of 18, and that is if I manage to catch a last one tomorrow, but having said that, it could have been so much worse so i am not entirely unhappy.

Anyway, I'm back again and planning to stay on track this time. Please can you sign me up for 18 again and I'll give it my best shot :)
Debt Free since Nov 11 (ish) (except the £118000 mortgage :o) as at Jan 2013 but still hanging around DFW as I need to Stay On Track.

  • Hey there, can you please put me down for 12 for the month... never hit one of my targets yet but I'm very determined that I'm going to do it this month!

    Good luck everyone :D

Could I please join in this month? I started to unofficially keep track of my no spends myself at the start of the year but after an injury things went out of the window.

Could I be put down for 10 NSDs please? I am hoping it will be more, but as this is my first time doing this properly, I thought I would start with a target I knew I could keep. Unfortunately my direct debits all come out on different days! :( Saying that 2 of my May ones have already come out  Thankfully I have was paid yesterday. I might take up the tip of having different pots, I already do that with my shopping money so it might be worth doing that for any other appointments I might have. Need to check my diary! ;)

I am also another poster with a birthday this month - however, due to one thing or the other I won't have the money to do anything :o as my wages are all tied up with various bills. I am trying really hard to budget and am now refusing to use my CC for anything so I can make sure that by this time next year OH and I will be in a much better financial situation. Hopefully this will make up for the fact I'll spend my 30th birthday at home doing nothing

  • Can you put me down for 10 NSD's in May please.
I haven't done as well as I'd hoped in April, but still head down and keep going in true DFW style:D

Hi all, I can see from the enthusiasm on this thread that NSDs seem to be quite a good way of trying to cut down on overall spend. This'll be my first month and I've no idea how it'll go but please put me down for 10 NSDS.. I'm not sure how I'll get on but hopefully can get off to a good start by not spending anything on Sunday and Monday!!

    Many thanks.
