Wow, Rock_cakes,hope everything works out for you and your OH.
Sometimes all it takes is to take a step back and think out of the box...it can be amazing what can crop up!! I think my whole life has been a bit like that.
At another cross-roads again as being made redundant at the end of July and trying to work out exactly what I want to do, or at least what areas to investigate. Knowing me, I will make a decision of what to do, then something else will come out of the blue and make me change direction completely!! :rotfl:
I am lucky in that we can survive (sort of!) on just DH's salary, with the buffer of an endowment which matured last year (yes, still lots left). As I am not fully recovered after being ill two years ago, I have to rule out many jobs (eg working in a shop, which I would love).
So keeping on with invigilating at college, which of course will stop come the summer. It doesn't bring in much and is a bit up and down hours-wise, but it does keep me in touch with what's going on in college, so perhaps I can pick up some more work there. I am already down for teaching a beginners' knitting class in September. Here's hoping there will be enough funding and students for the course to run.
Still not decided whether today will be an NSD or not...will report back later.
Have a great day everyone.

Well I had a great weekend my little sis. Take That were great on Friday. I went to the butchers to pick up the pork belly that I had ordered, only to be told that they had forgotten to put it by and it had been sold. Apparently I pulled my disappointed face (according to my DH) and the butcher gave me two smaller pieces for free.So that was a 1 kilo of pork for free and the crackling came out amazing!!
I handed in my notice at work and my line manager was very understanding about the situation. So we continued on the meeting and then she asked if I wanted to work remotely as a lot of the work I do just requires a computer. It doesn't really help our current situation as my contract still runs out at the end of August so I am not willing to commit to a new lease without a job in September but my DH is going to see if he's landlord will have the both of us, if we pay more rent. (so fingers-crossed for that) We would have to move very quickly, as I would need to give the notice on this flat next week. But at the moment that is the only solution I can see. Would be great if that could happen, cause we would save a bit of money and get my salary for a bit longer which would ease the pressure. Wasn't really expecting that result. DH is away with work today and tomorrow. So won't find out until tomorrow night at the earliest what the lay of the land is.
Thanks to everyone for their words of support, you have no idea how great it is to have them when you feel so isolated. You guys are the best. :T:T:T
xx
Great news on both counts, Rock_Cakes, things certainly do seem to be moving pretty quickly for you.
Fingers crossed for DH's landlord.
(((hugs)))
