Of course if you have been posting illegal/vile/offensive messages on a board they could well get police involved and then they WOULD be able to have it traced to your home ... Just remembering the case where someone did it on a football board (Aberdeen FC I think) about a Rangers fan being killed and they got charged with an offence by the police for it.(Insighting hatred or something wierd like that..)0

I'm afraid it was the other way round for me. They were being threatening and abusive to me to the point they were threatening to kill me and I was worried as some of them had my address. There is next to nothing that they would find out that could be usefull in that case... The only info they might get would be ISP and maybe City but thats all0 -

thanks, thats make me feel a little better, its nothing sinister its just a game forum i sometimes go on, and its a comment someone made, as i live in a small rural area, i was concerned a trace may bring them too close for comfort..
