i have to admit Lois i dont ... well apart from when my spelling is bad like when i am on the phone or something:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
if i go to asda i say asda etc ... i dont know why people do change the spelling but i have noticed it myself
thanks for the info regarding santander, i have nationwide as my current accounts ( 2) rbs (1) halifax(1) i have two ddm's that come out of halifax so that i get the £5 for... i was thinking if i go with santander i will pay by ddm the mobile and something else that they give discounts for ( gas and electric i think) i dont have the £3k just now to get the big % rate as i have my £2.5k in nationwide giving me interest.... but i think i could slowly over the course of a year or two build up to get the 3% from santander, just trying to work out if it is worth it
i am useless with spreadsheets also so just thought i would put that out there ... i see yourself and many others are excellent at them so i am hoping that eventually i will get the hang of them0 -
Maybe somebody else will come along who can explain it for both of us!
I'm switching all my qualifying DDs (phone/broadband, council tax, gas/electric and water) to my new 123 account. At the moment I've got £3,000 in there to get the 3%, and £2,490 in a Nationwide account too. That will change when I start paying my builder, though. Then I'll probably move most of the money in the 123 account to my GE account that pays 3.06%, and just leave enough in the 123 account to cover the bills, even though that money will then not be getting anything.
Yes, spreadsheets are my thing. I just find them fun. Especially making graphs and charts and things. I can't really get a feel for numbers in a list or table - I need to see them in some kind of visual format to get my head round them, so graphs a great for me. If you do start using excel, then do post any problems on here and I'll try to answer them. (But sadly, I have to say in advance that I can't come up with a spreadsheet trick that will pay off your mortgage for you.)

I misspell names too. I don't know why but think you are right; it's so the posts don't come up in searches whether it's by individuals or companies. The marketing team where I work receive alerts every time the organisation's name is used. They can read whatever is written about the company and use the information anyway they want.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120
MFiT3 #86: Reduce mortgage from £146,800 to £125,000

Because of these kinds of things in forum rules:
"We don't permit advertising on our forum so if we feel company names or websites are mentioned on the forum inappropriately, we may decide to add those names to our filter. The filter automatically replaces all instances of that word with exclamation marks."
So I think it stemmed from there, just people trying to avoid advertising...0 -

Been very busy recently. Still busy today, but hoping to be able to catch up with other people's diaries once school breaks up for Easter. However, just dropped by to say that
I own 75% of my house!
:dance:_party_:dance:_party_:dance:_party_
Random dumb question ... How did you work it out? Is it the % of the house mortgages compared to the value ? Or maybe the % of the mortgage left compared to what you originally paid for it ?
Congratulations btw ... I know I'm very late to say it but congrats all the same must be a great feeling0
