Tried again to log onto Santandr online banking but it wants me to put in a registration number, which I haven't got. However, my ancient Santandr phone banking details (from when I had an account with them a few years ago) still work just fine, and tell me the balance of my new account. So I used that to get through to a live human being to talk about not being able to log on to online banking, and he's pressed buttons so that I will get sent out new online login details this week.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Just had quote back from builder.
This is going to make a big dent in my EF.But it is all important stuff - either mending things that will get worse if left unattended-to, or simple measures that will make a big difference to quality of life (like increasing storage). He's not ready to start yet, though - some other big jobs on - so I'll have to see if I can fill up my "savings and bills" account as much as I can before I have to start paying for the work, so I don't have to take any more out of the EF than I have to.

Actually no, QBW. I went through all that the first time round. This guy is the one who rescued me from the consequences of employing the previous builder, and I've built up a relationship of trust with him, so I'll be sticking with him for the next bit. He won't rip me off, but on the other hand he won't use mega-cheapo products that don't work properly or need replacing after 5 minutes.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

We are in a similar situation Lois. We are using the builder who did our big renovation and are waiting to be scheduled in for a new balcony. I'm quite happy to wait, given the weather and every month should be more into savings. it's nice to have something to look forward to, too."Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." Just how I feel, catshark.
Weather here awful. I slept badly and keep listening to the wind howling round my house - and I don't even live at the top of a hill or anything.
Today I am grateful for
1) CM money will probably arrive today, or Monday at the latest.
2) It's Friday!
3) My bro and sil
4) My dad (he seems to crop up on these grateful lists quite often!)
5) The daffs and crocuses there have been around recently - hope some of them survive this weather.
Hello and thanks to Alchemilla, QBW and catshark for posting.
