Hello everyone
So sorry to have vanished without explaining why. Some of you may have realised that after posting quite a lot about my mum being ill, I stopped mentioning her online. Well, she deteriorated slowly and gradually with dementia and some physical illnesses too, and eventually died. Winding up her estate was complicated - she owned some foreign property which complicated matters - but eventually we sorted it all. I inherited enough to pay off my mortgage and my loans.
I still have fond memories of you all, and I hope everything is going brilliantly for you, but most of us have busy lives, and I'm no exception, and mine has moved on from the whole MFW thing.
Best wishes for a very happy 2015,
Lois.

Hey Lois,
So sad to hear that. Biggest hugs and wishes for you for the future.
I know exactly what it's like to see that happen, and when it's your Mum I don't think it matters what age you are, it always hits you hard.
Sorry becoming MF has happened in the worst of circumstances. I hope you can still visit sometimes, even if it's to move on and think of financial independence or something.
Lots of love,
Cal0 -
Thanks Cal.
The thing is, I'm afraid to say I've stopped updating my spreadsheet. Well, I've updated the mortgage page to show it's paid offbut the pages that relate to incomings and outgoings with my various bank accounts are MONTHS out of date. Which is going to be a problem if I don't get caught up by the time HMRC want me to fill in forms when tax year 14-15 finishes.
When I eventually get my spreadsheet sorted, I might come on here to think about how best to look after (and I hope also grow) what remains of the money Mum left me. It would be nice to be able to give my kids a help with mortgage deposits when they're grown up.
ATM the spreadsheet isn't calling loudly enough at me for me to sort it out yet. You're so right that losing your mum hits you hard however old you are, and I am taking a lot longer to bounce back from it than I thought I would, so I am still in a "more important things on my plate than details about money" frame of mind. Which is why being on MFW hasn't felt like something that fits with where my head is, IYSWIM.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Completely right and understandable. Thinking of you x0 -
Glad you're ok Lois and am sure you will feel up to more soon.
BTW........ my spreadsheet is still broken :eek::eek:.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
