I currently have a hose pipe adaptor screw on. It just makes it a little awkward when I fit the hose. I would prefer it to face downwards or sideways instead of up. I am aware of self cutting taps I could use, but think it might restrict flow & is expensive. I'm also aware I could fit an outside tap, but that also isn't what I want to do.
Is there any reason why you could not loosen the fitting and re-fit it facing down? This is what a professional would do, which is why there are probably no fittings of the type you require on the market.

    thanks for your replies.

the pipe is in the kitchen and faces up as it would be used for a washing machine etc. I have hose pipe attachment on it. When I take the hose on and off, I quite often end up with water in the cupboard which I want to avoid.

    AHH with you now!
Looks like a compression nut underneath the washing machine valve so if you first turn the water off then undo that then grab a couple of 15mm compression elbows and a bit of pipe then make yourself a "U" shape so that is points downwards. Quickist way and simples:)
