HI

I have a contract with Orange, for 24 months and i have over a year left for it to finish and i was wondering if i could cancel it for cheap or even for free.
i am not a dodgy person lol phone companies eat my wallet

i gave them a ring and they said i need to pay over 400 pound to cancel it , but as because i dont have that i was wondering if there is a loop to get around it

important information
i started my contract when the vat in the u.k was 17.5% and now its 20% is that a way of geting rid because they went over there own rules
and also i have bad signal and i know in the contract it states something like you should have a fully working phone and stuff

PLEASE CAN YOU HELP ME! THANK YOU!:money:

No loophole you signed the contract .

Not their rules its a Government tax subject to change .VAT is an added tax .

Been no complaints for the first twelve months of the contract by you .???

    As above.

You have no valid reason to cancel. You were happy enough to "sign up", take the mobile handset and now you want to renege. Sorry, you need to understand that a contract is a contract. Also, try searching this forum and you will see that the advice is always the same.

Just why you think you can walk away from a 2 year contract without paying it off baffles me.

Oh, and the VAT issue is well covered in the networks' t&c. They reduced the charges when the rate went down to 15%.

first of all i have been complaining about the signal issues since the 2nd month

all they did was send me a new sim, and that didnt sort anything out plus i changed phones and still same thing

secondly im not trying to baffle anyone i just want to know my place in the contract im preety sure if you lot could you would do the same thing if you could get it ie for cheaper or even for free

im sure this forum is suppose to help people with there issues and also give help with good deals and so on

but you lot are tryna make it out like ive done a crime by asking

If you have it will be documented, although have you been following it up through months 3 to 12? If you have they will be recorded an you may have a case for a goodwill gesture than a one off complaint and nothing more.

Unfortunatly the answer is always the same and it's not the answer you wanted. Sorry.

This forum is about money saving andf helping people but as has been said you signed up for 24 months, part of that you got the new phone and you need to see that contract out or pay the termination fee.

If you didn't want to be tied in you should have bought the phone sim free and taken a monthly contract.

Again I know it's not what you want to hear but unfortunatly that is the only answer.

Unfortunately you would have to buy out of a contract you entered into and agreed the term at the beginning.
You may have had signal issues right from the start but it will not be taken into consideration unless you called them at the start and continually told them there was a problem and crucially have been unable to make or receive any calls during this time which they would be able check.
One thing you could do is to reduce you monthly bill if you are at least half way through the contract is to call customer services and move your tariff down - DO NOT do this if it means that it will not cover your needs. When, a month later you ask to buy out of your contract it will be based on the lower rate. Be aware Orange do not have to do this, this would be good will on the providers behalf.

If you have reported issues a lot, and that probably means at least monthly, try emailing the executive office (search on here for the email address).

However if you've only complained once or twice in the past, then you won't get much goodwill.

    Goodluck
