  • hi I've just filled out the form I was sent by FSCS in regards to 2 Loans I got out with Welcome, But I have had a previous loan win them before 2005 & I believe I was sold PPI with this loan aswell.
How do I try to get compensation back from this loan if FSCS will only help me with the post 2005 loan?.....I hope I get some sort of payout as Welcome put me through years of hell & the Interest was an absolute disgrace I think in total £5000 was borrowed & about £8500-£9000 paid back.
Both loans are settled now.........I'm still a little bitter after all this time with welcome & appreciate FSCS sending me the forms to get this started.
Can anyone give me some advice please it would help a great deal
Many thanks on a great forum guys.
  • hi we had sevreal loans with welcome and in the end we were paying them more than we had so we stop they then sold our loan onto a debt recovery agency company we have put in a claim for ppi will we see any of the money ?
  • I submitted my questionnaire on 1 December 2011. Received an ackowledgement on 16 December 2011 and phoned today to find out the progress and was told it is in the 'final stages'. Not sure what this means as they won't give anything away but fingers and toes crossed that I get some money in my bank account soon.
  • I've had a claim form along with letter from FSCS/WFSL this week, which I'm currently filling in.

    So far so good....

Once I send the form back, will they ask for anything else like ID, as I don't drive I don't have a driving license, nor do I have a passport.

The only thing I have is a birth certificate somewhere.

Also, I take it I don't need to do seperate application forms for each loan?

i took out a loan with welcome in 2005. i recieved a letter and form a few weeks ago from fscs. i honestly cant remember anything about the loan app as id just had a baby then. during the loan period i went on a debt management plan. the loan has since been settled. im assuming that as fscs contacted me i had ppi with the loan. will the fact that i was on a debt management plan affect that in any way? welcome also defaulted the loan in error, which they have since corrected. i only sent form off last week.

You should be ok with one form with both loan numbers on,ring FSCS and ask them.

Let them know you only have a birth certificate, they may need something with your signature on too, they will let you know what you can use if they need it.

I dont see a problem if the loan was cleared in full, the redress should come to you.to put your mind at rest, ring FSCS and ask.

Wish I could join in but my claim has been in since May 2011 and is still to be sorted. I moved house and sent them proof of my address in September, then after hearing nothing for a while I rang in October to be told they wanted my IVA completion Cert, then after that they wanted proof of identity again, then my passport had to be verified then on Dec 21 they said it was all sorted. then on Dec 24 I was sent a letter saying that my claim was in the final stages.

Today I rang for an update and they said I would have to wait until the end of February before I hear anything.

By the way, all the extra information I have had to supply, I have never received a single letter requesting them, I only knew they wanted them by rining up.

Its getting boring to be honest
