Welcome Finance - FSCS Success

Some good news people.....I checked my bank balance today and £1,118.31 has been credited to my account!!!! :T

I am very impressed with Welcome/FSCS. I sent my questionnaire off on the 7th April, received a letter a week later acknowledging receipt. I phoned on the 21st April to see how they were getting on with my claim, to be told it was in the 'final stages' and a settlement figure would probably be sent out soon. Received payment today, so the process took about 3 weeks!!

I haven't received the settlement letter yet, but I am pretty sure this is 90% of the PPI I paid, so I am pleased with that.

Thanks everyone for their help, Di, etc ;) Just Barclays to go now, (which is currently with the FOS!)

Regards

Iain

    Hi all.
Years ago I took out a Loan with Welcome, which was a joint loan with my ex-partner.
Short story: she told me she was paying the loan repayments on time, and I was giving her the money, but found out she hadn't been, so I took on the loan.

Problem is that huge charges were put onto it, and it took some time to clear it, that along with the PPI made it expensive going.

I have recently received a claim form from FSCS, and a phone call from Your Money Claim.
The latter told me that I may be able to reclaim the PPI AND the other charges, which I am unsure about TBH, as they relate too different matters.

From your experience FSCS seem to have got results, just wondered if you had any thoughts on this?

Also, would my Ex partner also need to fill out the same form?

    Hi there

If the loan was in joint names, I believe its a matter of the reclaim would be down the middle, so your ex partner to what I'm aware of will have to sign the claim form as well.
However, in your case just to be sure in case a separate one is required, I would personally contact the FSCS who will confirm.

Meanwhile maybe someone else will know the accurate answer on this and will post up soon, but otherwise do try to get in touch with the FSCS.

    Good luck.

Go with FSCS they are free, you are entitled to this money and you should not give a % to a claims company for doing (in this case, as fscs will deal with it anyway) money for nothing.

Hi, Had you paid off your loan when they refunded you the money - i have a successful claim but they have taken it off the loan balance instead of paying it directly to me :(

    Hi Gary,

I had already paid off the loan in June 2010 so it was all paid direct to me. If you already have a loan this will be normal procedure I am afraid.

How much have your monthly repayments dropped?
