Hey - Friday night n I'm on here lol! Rocking lifestyle!

Well done on finding the paperwork but gutted the BT transfer is probs up. 2 months on DFD is nothing though - 2 years is gutting so try to remain positive as it sounds you are.

I don't know re free dental for NHS - didn't think - surely they'd still be able to claim it back but I have no idea. Anyway, done now and at least it came in under budget even if it means your memory's going lol :)

That's what happened with me, my card BT rate ran out and now I can't get another one but hopefully you can.
    Debt - CCV £3792
CCB £1383 (took a hit for a holiday)

Well he commented on the size of my very obvious 'almost due' bump but never once mentioned anything to do with a reduction of cost. It's fine, I never expected it and had budgeted for the dental bill, so it's not a problem as such. Plus I now have descaled and polished teeth ready for my post birth photos with my newborn :D:rotfl:

DH appears to still have a really good credit rating with his current card providers, so it really shouldn't be a problem being offered another BT deal. If not, then we have a plan for tackling the debt regardless. It would just save a little bit of £££ on interest payments, and let's face it, the banks and CC companies get enough off us don't they ;)

I, on the other hand, don't have a strong credit rating like him. On my own debt free journey I had a default on my credit file. It was cleared in 2007 so isn't on my record anymore, but the knock on effect of not being able to get credit is still there now. My husband wasn't my husband then - I was still married to my first husband. My current husband had debts when we met, and I literally became debt free as we got together after the breakup of my first marriage.

I have a Capital One credit card (18.9%) with a £400 credit limit (empty) which we use every now and again and pay straight off to keep strengthening my credit rating (usually buy clothes on it and pay it off with the clothes budget), and a Tesco credit card (16.9%) with a £400 limit (empty) which I use for my grocery shopping and pay off monthly (extra Clubcard points ;):money:). I also have an account with Next (empty) which I occasionally use as our local store is dire, but again, it is paid off as soon as the bill comes.

I have well and truly learned my debt free lesson!!!! Now to teach the lesson to hubby :D

Ebay is going well .... 5 out of 15 items listed today have bids on already :D Not expecting to make much money at all, but as Mr T says, every little helps :D

Oh, and I have to confess to spending £1.39 on a large bar of chocolate tonight :o Well, you can't deny a heavily pregnant woman her cravings .......... :rotfl:

    Morning :)

I remember with my first born I was due the day I had a dental appointment and was having twinges. It was so funny as he had me out of there as quick as possible, he obviously wasn't comfortable in the situation LOL.

My credit rating was in the excellent category which is why I was so PO when I was declined but the reason for being declined was as I had too much credit elsewhere and they obviously wouldn't believe me when I said I was going to consolidate it!

I really don't want credit again. We want to put an extension on the house in 4 years time and I know DH will want to take a loan out as he doesn't have D and never has but I will be scared stiff and really don't want to so will put a plan in place to allow us to save for it, or my half at least! If he wants a loan for his half that's up to him :)

We want to be able to get a mortgage (currently renting) so we want to make sure we have a good credit rating for that primarily.

Well 2 weeks until pay day (well, 2 weeks and a day) .... still feel like I'm stalling. Had Capital One statement in post over the weekend so I'm going to update the snowball today so it is as accurate as possible. It hasn't shown the BT though, but it has gone through on the online banking transaction list. Is it sad that I am anxiously waiting for the postman to see if any more CC statements arrive??? :rotfl:

    Need to shop today :(

Ebay auctions finish later ... currently making £20.96 :)

Not sure I have anything else to report. Spent £4 yesterday for entry to DDs swimming gala. Wasn't budgetted for (really hate having to pay to watch but I guess it's how they fundraise) but was well spent as she won all her races :D

Thankfully we got a mortgage when I wasn't too far in debt. Oh how I wish I had learnt this lesson before, but saying that I wouldn't know what I do now re budgetting and so on if it wasn't for debt so bitter sweet.

I'm rejigging my SS every day hoping that I will be able to knock a year off my DFD but it isn't happening. I might stagger my payments through the month so feels like I am achieving something every week!

I have just given nursery £9 for a trip to a farm - I don't think there will be any more before the summer hols now. I need to incorporate school uniforms and things into budget but it's my daughter's first year and I have no idea what to expect cost wise. She has nothing so far, starts in Sept. My mam's offered to buy her shoes bless her.

At least when my son's old enough to go I will be DF so there's bonus!

If it is first year infant school then uniform can be done pretty cheap. I always buy school uniform on 3 for 2 in Sainsburys, and save Nectar Points up to use as well. It's cheap anyway in there - probably even cheaper in matalan or asda (we don't have an asda though). The only item I can't get for school in there is the school logo sweater. There is only one shop here to buy them from, and they're about £8 each. I only buy one to start with as my kids don't go to school full time straight away (school policy - they stagger the entry). Then I buy another when they start full time - which spreads the cost that little bit. The biggest expense is school shoes as I always buy Clarks.

My DD is going to secondary school this year so it will be mega expensive with school blazers etc

I am not even 100% sure of the school colours - when the head rings I will ask him.

Whatever it is will be halved with DH so not too bad and Clarks here too - thankfully Mam's offered for their first lot - phew.

    Thanks for the tips!

Ok .... weekly shop done thanks to Mr T online delivery ... £51.33 inc. delivery .... that's a bit more like it :D

On the downside, I weakened tonight and went to the chippy for tea :o so that was £14.45 I wasn't planning on spending. I plan to reduce the remaining monthly shopping budget by this amount to make up for it. In my defence, I'm ill and had a docs appt and thought I was going to end up being admitted to the antenatal unit tonight, so hadn't prepared anything for tea, and by the time I got home I really couldn't face it :o. Luckily, they don't think it's anything to worry about so I'm at home in my PJs resting. Must get my hospital bag packed this weekend though .... I always have it packed for the last 6 weeks just in case :o

My ebay auctions have all finished and the items sold value (exc. p&p) came to £43.48 :D Will total up actual profit made once fees and p&p have been paid for.

Postman didn't bring any CC bills so nothing to get excited about on the spreadsheet or snowball.

    Good Morning

How are you feeling today? Taking it easy I hope!

A treat is good for the soul as long as it's budgetted for which yours is now so no biggy :) Did you enjoy the fish n chips?

Ordering takeaways is/was my big weakness. At the risk of sounding like an addict - it's been 3 weeks +2 days now since we last had one which for us is good! Truth be told I haven't missed them as am really into my cooking at present although we did have a convo on Sunday as to getting one but we resisted. Luckily we're both on low fat diets at present too so both pennies and lb's are saved!

So how many meals/days will Mr T shop last you?
