Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker Debt-free and Proud!
Have just made a batch of corned beef hash using leftover boiled spuds from gammon and pots we had the other night - they were languishing in the fridge so now are put to good use! It's made 2 portions using the spuds, 1 onion, half a tin of corned beef and a splash of milk. Have also meal planned and written a shopping list for this week. Am hoping to spend around £40 of my £44.40 ish budget. Did really well last week and hoping that will continue through May.

Have a good and frugal week all :)

Just been in to Wilk***n and bought a pack of 2 potatoe planters for £2.98 and a bag of seed potatoes for 98p. Potatoes supposed to be planted March-May so should be ok. Have never planted potatoes befor so will give it a go. Only thing is have no compost would it be ok to use old soil from old unused plant pots and give a good dose of feed - really don't want to have to go and buy big bag of compost. Also went into asda and bought whoopsied smoked haddock loins pack of two for £2.98, whoopsied sausages £1.20(not a big reduction) and woopsied turkey meatballs with a sachet of tomato sauce £1.59 reduced from £3.58) Also started on my xmas pressie list!! -bought two lovely necklaces reduced to £1.29 each

Feeling a bit cross as I have just thrown out a whole leg of lamb that I had purchased a couple of weeks ago. I defrosted it Thursday night on the work top & its been in the fridge since Friday morning but when I went to put it into the slow cooker this morning, I thought it smelt a bit funny. Then as it was cooking, it still continued to smell so OH & I both tasted a mouthfull each a few hours later & agreed that it really didn't taste right so have just binned the whole thing. Better safe than sorry I suppose but I had been looking forward to it & instead defosted some prawns & had a sweet n sour instead - not a normal Sunday dinner for us!

Now debating whether to pop to the Co Op or not, mainly cos I just feel like getting out of the house for 10 minutes.

I have never tried using old soil from pots but perhaps garden soil would be better.
quarter fill your bags with compost then plant potatoes, when shoots start poking through cover again with more compost do this once more when shoots appear. keep well watered and you should have areally good crop.

94p spent on milk today (that's gone up!) Also got another toothbrush, but not counting that. I had 2 teeth out on Friday and am trying to find a toothbrush that doesn't hurt. I've ended up buying a childs brush as they have smaller heads :o

Thank you, but I live on my own so can't get through the bigger bottles before they go off. I've bought 4pt bottles in the past and I end up pouring half of it away as it's gone nice and cheesy! I should buy 4pts and freeze half, but then it's using up freezer space.

Back from a weeks holiday, what a reality check. Work tomorrow :(

Popped into T£sco for packed lunch supplies. Gone all healthy out of necessity, really need to shift some weight. Got a wedding to go to in September and don't want to look like a beached whale.

Check me feeling all sorry for myself!!

Giving myself a virtual talking to :o

Spent £10.56 which I will add to my total now

My name is CherryPie and I'm addicted to grocery shopping!!
