Hve you tried Out of This World on Gosforth high street. Ive not seen it in there but they do a massive range of veggie and vegan food.

Maybe you can call them on Monday tel: 0191-213 5377.

Also, have you tried the quorn turkey roast instead? Ive had it its ok (needs lots of gravy on it) but I dont know if its suitable for vegans.

quorns not vegan but out of this world do some vegan roasts and nut roasts

I love the fishless fishcakes, very nice for quick meals
they also do swedish glaze vegan ice creams

just a shame the shop insists on putting meat right next to the veggie stuff as I hate moving it out the way to get to the vegan mince

According to the site there ar a limited number of Uk retailers, but they are listed here: http://www.tofurky.com/purchase/purchasing_INTL_DET.asp?CountryID=6&Submit=Submit

Perhaps you could phone one and arrange mail order, if they are not near to you?
  • Thanks, I will check that out

I bought a small Quorn roast at Christmas two years ago for a temporary vegetarian, I swear it was that that made her start eating meat again it was horrible LOL.

Where in the North of England do you live? I am sure there will be stockists of the Tofurky in some of the trendier parts of the North...

I hate it too, it is dry and flavourless, but my husband insists on it (so does my - meat eater - son) so this year it is going to be the same again for us, disgusting quorn roast with:

lovely homemade sage and onion stuffing, yorkshire pudding, honey and sesame seed glazed carrots, buttered leeks, roast potatoes and parsnips, brussel sprouts with chestnuts, veggie gravy

    Panettone for pudding.

Why are my family men so stupid, with all that good food that I spend the day cooking they still want to eat that quorn turd!

    Caterina (frustrated)
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
