Morning all.
There I was tripping merrily around the house. Checked on my "new" dining room. Did some ironing, played with children, let DH have a lie in, made some beautiful jam doughnut muffins and felt like a great mummy. But of course it all had to come to an end. The kids refused to eat the muffins! (they can't be my children) so I've refused to give them any options. Good grief - I'd understand if I was sticking liver and onions under their noses.
I'll give in about 10 and give them something - but really.
Got to nip into town today. Need some header tape and thread so I can get my door curtain made. DH was a good boy yesterday and not only put up the new light in the dining room, he also put up our new portiere. I don't really want to go into town, but DH has agreed to keep the kids so I can go on my own. yay.

:hello: Gooooood Morning, fellow OS’ers
It’s a windy wet day outside today but a lovely cosy toesy day inside
Had a fabulously good night’s sleep and I’m ready to take on board everything which needs doing today (dark colours wash, woollens washload, ironing, make a loaf, make up some Everyday biscuit dough, Weetabix brownies, braised beef for dinner, get some admin work done ready for tomorrow, quick hoover/dust, make a CD slideslow of photo’s for someone, assist d11yo with a cooking project he wishes to do as a Christmas gift, make a fruit cake for packed lunches and then, once I’ve sat down for the evening, I want to achieve 20 rows of knitting on the 2nd scarf. Hmm, hope I meet all my targets  Thankfully I don’t have to do the footie match today as D12yo’s dad will do that.
Welcome to those who are dipping their toes into the OS Daily and the OS returners I spotted reading through yesterday’s thread  Always refreshing to see new faces J J J
Thank you to those who sent good wishes regarding the car – (Psst! moggins, what is clutch fluid?) She’s still stuck 24 miles away at the moment – have to arrange which garage to get her into and because life is so full of a whole variety of commitments, it’s all a juggling act. J&A have loaned me their Feisty Fiesta until next Friday when I’m back over there in the evening for a special occasion anyway, so as long as I can jingle and jangle it all in somehow this week, all should be well.
Yesterday turned out to be an absolutely brilliant day!!! By the time we’d travelled over to the Dickensian Christmas the weather had cleared. It was absolutely jam packed full of people and tourists and costumed characters. There were roasted chestnuts, mulled wine, mince pies, burgers/hotdogs, craft stalls and a wonderful atmosphere; plus the lads couldn’t resist visiting “St Nicolas” – well this was Victorian times- and had a dip in his bran tub
We even got caught in a snow storm 4 times during the day :rotfl: and what a lovely touch that was!
The only downside was there were times during the day when the streets were just so packed you couldn’t move this way, that way, forward or backward!! And not everyone had the patience for that (there’s always those
) but it didn’t mar the overall fun or festivities.
Right, time I was on the move and working through my list of To-Do’s or I’ll get sidetracked here and it’ll be bedtime again before I know it!
Enjoy a moneysaving Sunday:wave:

Morning all.
Had an interesting night. Lost power last night and the little one woke up wanting to be fed. So had no lights, and water that needed warming slightly as it had been in the fridge. We worked things out eventually thank goodness....and was releived when the power came back on 3 or 4 hours later.
I have some pastry that I need to use today. Just need to work out whether I'm going to do a jam roley, or some mince pies. Other jobs involve the usual running around after the little one...in terms of bottles, bum and washing.
Yesterday I sorted out most of the remaining xmas pressies. Just a couple more left now but I can't sort those at the moment. Then I have to get the family's xmas cards..and its all done.
Tomorrow my OH goes back to work for the first time since the birth so I shall enjoy my last day of having some help around the place. Monday will be very different.
Forgot to mention that the last time the little one was weighed she put on 10oz in a week. Was very impressed with her progress.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.

Just watching the end of Strictly come dancing at the moment with a coffee.

Morning everyone :hello:
We had three or four tremendous rainstorms last night - all an hour or so apart so that my night's sleep was well and truly broken. Still, we have a fresh sunny morning now, which is good as I have to go into town to do some jobs.
I managed to get the last few Christmas pressies wrapped yesterday so all I have to do now is decorate the house and buy the food for Christmas. :j
My cousin phoned me last night to say that she would like to come down to stay between Christmas and New Year. I'm looking forward to seeing her but I will need to make sure DD's bedroom is fit for a guest to sleep in.
I finally got the photographs I ordered from my parents' golden wedding party back in August. They are really good and I think I may frame the one I have of me with DS and DD and my parents. So, I will look for a suitable frame when I am up town today. I also got a photograph that has everyone who was at the party in it! It is so big (there were about 70 people) that the best the photographer could do was to reduce it to A4. I suppose I could still mount it somehow and put it in a larger frame.
Anyway, must eat something now before facing the hordes. When I get back I will be doing some batch cooking to fill the freezer and set me up for the week ahead. Washing is all done and dried. :j Bathroom needs a serious clean as DS is making quite a mess brushing his teeth with his new braces on.
Have a great day everyone. X"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Morning all
You have been busy bunnies this morning. So far all I've achieved is checking the washing is dry, making a coffee and ordering 5 more school shirts for DS online
Not very amused with DH as he is having a second lie in this weekend whilst I look after DDNever mind, I'm hoping to get everything done early today as I want to get some knitting finished this evening. There is so much to be done and I think I shall also threaten that if they don't help me clean the house then the deckies will not be going up.

We have just finished having a big storm here. Lots of rain and lightening. It was a hot day here though. Usually when it's like that we have late afternoon/night storms. They can do a lot of damage. Lucky our power didn't go out but there was a lot that did. I have just put DGS into his cot. It's 8pm here. A bit later than usual but after his mega sleep this arv wasn't really ready for it earlier. DH lays on the bed while he initially goes to sleep. It seems to settle him better. It's only a small cot and pressed against the window. If hes left alone he gets up to all sorts of mischief.
Just had a granny day today. Off to town again in the car ferry in the morning to get more supplies. This could be our last one. Fingers crossed. Electrician coming tomorrow and our power & lights should be on when we get home. Great as we will be working nights as well. Well off to have a bit of surf as I unwind a bit. Have a lovely sunday and ((((((((((((hugs)))))))))) to all.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

Try telling the kids that the muffins are not for them - they are for "visitors"!
Bet they scoff them then!
Nice quite sunny day here and washing is on the line.
Dishwasher is on and I finished my first fluffy scarf last night.
Christmas market is on so DDs will be going later and Christingle is at 3.30 so want to go with at least one DD and DH.
Lunch will be home made little yorkies and roast potatoes with sprouts, cabbage, carrots and french beans - chicken pie or chicken kiev for those who turn their noses up! Ice cream to follow."This site is addictive!"

Not much planned for today, uniforms to iron later for school/work. Big pile of clean washing to sort through and put away.
