I don't know what to advise, I'm not really in a position to help
Perhaps a bit of visulisation like the athletes do before a big event. See yourself in the role, doing the job would help?
You know you can do it, you're getting the interviews, and that's not easy, believe me! Therefore, you do have the skills for the job. Whoever is interviewing you wants you to succeed, they've picked you out from a lot of applicants. They don't want to interview loads of people, they want you to be the one!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

A little update.
Feeling brighter today, still a bit down but haven't cried today (yet!) I still haven't heard back about 'the job', can't decide if this is a good thing or not.
ATS is cementing the hole in the floor that the plumber / glaziers left. The kitchen is mostly back to normal. It still needs cleaning - even if we clean it everyday I think we will still be finding dust in a week's time.
Need to do more work in the back yard too, especially now that it is more visible from the kitchen. It hasn't rained yet today so we might be able to get a chance to do some later. Fingers crossed.- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746

Feeling better again today. Spent time cleaning and tidying the kitchen last night. It's looking really good now. ATS is doing a 'deep clean' in the pantry thos morning; when everything is out if there you realise just how much it holds.
DD has a friend coming over this afternoon, it will be carnage. When she leaves it looks as is a bomb has gone off. But DD loves having her over to play and it won't take too long to tidy up after them.
I plan on cleaning the bathroom at some point today. It really needs it and I always feel better / happier when its nice and shiny.
Moneywise, ATS is just off up the bank to pay in some cash we've had reimbursed. There's still over £600 we're waiting to be reimbursed for on top, of what he's paying in today and I hope it comes in soon as the savings balance is looking a bit sorry for itself.
July was an incredibly spendy month and I have no expenses coming from work this month, just my basic pay. ATS doesn't know when he'll get paid from his new job either. The car needs its MOT, we need to get shoes and tights for DD for school and it's my mother's birthday, but other than that we have nothing we have to spend money on in August.- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746

sorry hun, I have been reading but not been able to post.
things are not good at work. They made someone from my team redundant yesterday, and another person from my old team has to be made redundant too
I am safe at the moment as I am very proactive in trying to get new business for work.
Hope you get the job you applied for.

Hey Aesop,
I'm sorry to hear about your work situation, it makes you nervous even when its not you. You have my sympathy, I hope things improve soon.
I didn't get the jobI think I must come across all wrong in the interview. I've had 7 of them now and I really think I'm getting worse

PAY DAY TOMORROW! God, what a long month! Finally got some expenses returned yesterday, £74 in total, so need to go to the bank today and pay that in. Need to do a budget for the next month as this is the least amount of pay I have had for a while. ATS will also be getting paid too, but we don't when when or how much.
Looking back, July was a mad month.
ATS got a job! 3 days a week for possibly 11 weeks.
We lost the car key and had to pay over £500 for a replacement - luckily covered by an insurance policy that ATS has got.
We ordered and had installed the new french doors and all the work that went along with that, like moving the sink, and blocking up the door etc. We spent over £650 cash and £4000 on credit
We bought (£450) and laid (finished yesterday!) the flagstones on the back yard - they look brill
We booked a 'mini-break' for our anniversary, paid for by my parents!
We bought DD's first school uniform.
Oh and the car passed the MOT, costing a grand total of £120! :rotfl:
Even though our savings took a bit of a beating (down £1100) we just wouldn't have been able to do any of this last year, we were still repaying high levels of debt and had virtually no money saved up. We would have had to resort to putting the car key and holiday outlay on credit until we got the money back for them.
There's still loads to do in the house and we are far from financially secure, but we are getting there and it feels really good.- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746

Such a lot has happened since I last posted.
We went on our anniversary jaunt to Scotland. It was lovely, we spent a small fortune, but we had a lovely time and have hardly spent a penny on ourselves for well over 18 months so I don't feel guilty. ATS has come back very energised, which is great.
I have had a hard three day in work. I hate the place now and two of my good friends there are leaving too, which just compounds things. Try as I might I haven't found a new job yet and I'm feeling a bit of job hunting fatigue. One glimmer of hope is that I *might* possibly get a promotion, which would be fantastic in the short term, but I'll still want to leave as the place overall is going to the dogs.- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746

Six weeks and no post! I've thought about MSE almost every day and I've been checking the diaries regularly. Sadly, I've been a bit too sad to actually make any posts.
I'm so demoralised by the job hunting - eight interviews and no offersWork have reduced my hours despite giving me extra work to do. My boss is being horrible and the new members of teh team don't have a clue what they are doing.
As a result, I've fallen off the MSE bandwagon a bit and even ended bank charges the last two months! Luckily my bank is refunding them so no harm done, but it has knocked me a bit and made me realise how easy it would be to slip back into nasty old habits.
Because I've been a bit 'spendy' I've not added anything much to the savings - I haven't racked up debt, as I would have done in the old days - but its still not actual 'progress' either.
On a positive note, today we repaid £2457 to ATS credit card (the 0% has come to an end)- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746
