Back filling the big hole I dug with my credit card

Had the job interview Friday - had an email today saying they that don't want to offer me the post. I don't mind as I really did not get a good vibe when I was there and the commute would have been awful.
I still have two applications live, well five actually if you include the ones that I don't think will realistically get back to me. Checked all the boards today and nothing new going....
Its pay day tomorrow! And I made it all the way here by only going about £10 or so into my overdraft. And seeing as I'm owed £100 in expenses technically I made it pay day in credit, if not on paper.
So, I'll do the money hokey cokey tomorrow and transfer the months outgoings to the joint account and a good chunk over to the savings. I might make a cheeky overpayment to the mortgage too if I think we can afford it.
Bug thing tomorrow though - I need to write up my two mystery shops!- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746

Ok, so did the money hokey cokey today.
Transferred £510 over to joint account to cover the bills.
Transferred £731 to savings account where we're keeping the money to clear ATS credit cards. We now have the money to clear the balance of one when the 0% ends in September and a chunk towards the next one, the 0% of which ends in January.
Transferred £500 bonus into separate account to pay for: £100 horse logging day, £85 cookery day, £15 take away and £300 for paving slabs for the back yard.
Transferred £9 into ISA, to make it a round figure.
That leaves me with £186 cash and ATS with £115 cash.
I am owed about £135 expenses, which I'll get hopefully by the end of the month and ATS has a cheque for £80.
We have no big expenditure to do (except a pair of running shoes), so hopefully we can have a tight month and concentrate our efforts on making extra money, rather than spending it.- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746

Spent £50 today buying stuff for DD's school uniform for September. Still need to get some school branded jumpers, tights and shoes, but I'll get them next month.
Chased up the dream job today that I applied for on 28th May. Despite two nice follow emails from me to the recruiter, I didn't even get an acknowledgement of my application or confirmation that they had even received it. So I found the number and called. A girl answered whose tone suggested she thought I was a mad woman. She told me that they were already interviewing so if I hadn't heard it was because my application hadn't been successful. She said she'd get the recruiter to email me. He still hasn't. And this is a guy who is Head of Public Relations.... Hmm, I think not. I found the email address of his boss too, and I'm going to email him tomorrow and let him know what a shoddy run operation they got.
Anyway, the whole thing put me in a bit of a downer, where I've stayed ever since. I've been job hunting since February and despite several really good interviews nothing has materialised. My hours are being reduced from October 1st so I HAVE to find a new job before then.- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746

It's so hard not hearing anything back from the agencies especially when it's an ideal job you're applying for. I'm always been told something special will come along, but I'm still waiting....
You have my sympathy, you know I'm in the same boat, it's not an easy time, is it?

Thanks Piq. I know, its so demoralising. Anyway, in a bizarre twist of events they seemed to have readvertised the same job via a different channel, after emailing me to tell me the post was filled.
This prompted me to completely overhaul my CV with the help of ATS and if I do say so myself it is now one kick-!!! CV. I did a brand new covering letter and I applied for the job again! Nothing ventured nothing gained and all that - at least its shows perseverance I guess!
So armed with my better, more amazing CV I applied another three jobs today. Something, sooner or later, will come along. The law of averages is on my side!
I got £49 from mystery shopping into my account today and I transferred over £30 profit into the savings account.
I need to get my new trainers on the weekend and I have also arranged free tickets for us to see a science demonstration on Sunday. We're also watching some flagstones on ebay that end today and hopefully we will win them for a decent price and be able - at long last - to finish our back yard!- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746

What a lovely weekend.
Yesterday was the last day of term for Stagecoach and we went with my parents to watch a little snippet of what they had been doing all year. It was lovely to see DD enjoying herself do much. We bought her some hair clips and a hula skirt, both of which she loved.
Today we went out for lunch and visited a festival. We bought some face paints for DD and DS and a little educational game to help DD. She also had a go on a bouncy castle and We took her and DD on a carousel.
Amazingly - IT DIDN'T RAIN!
My joint in my hands and feet have been quite sore for a few days, but today they were really bad. It worries me when they are like this, but I took my anti-inflammatory's and I'll just see how they are tomorrow.
I have a bit of news (news is too strong a word, but you know what I mean) on the job front. The recruiter of one of the jobs that I applied for on Friday (with my mega new amazing CV) got back to me and asked me to supply a supporting statement. Now it might not sound like a lot BUT it is the most well paid of all the twenty jobs I have applied for, paying almost double what I earn now and it carries the most responsibility. The thing is I had seen the job advertised before and told myself there was no point in applying as it was too much of a leapt from where I am now. So just the fact that the recruiter has asked me to submit the statement has given me a bit of a confidence boost.
Anyway, I'm too tired to write more tonight so I'll try and write a better update tomorrow.- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746

Hey NewLeaf - thanks for dropping by. I am really looking forward to the horse course on Thursday - I think the only problem might be is that I love it a bit too much and spend all time time and energy scheming about getting a horse and somewhere to keep it...
Paid for membership (£90!) to a second professional body yesterday in the hope of improving my CV for prospective employers. They body I joined does have 12 month mentoring schemes, which I plan on taking advantage of as I feel it is something my career has missed to date. They payment did take me over into my overdraft though  and I feel a bit funny about it seeing as pay day is so far away. I'm still owed lots of expenses though so hopefully they'll come through soon.
The recruiter for the 'well paid job' said my application was very good and she has put me forward for the job, but I won't hear until next week at the earliest if the organisation will want to interview me.
I applied for another job yesterday - this one is based in Amsterdam (Woo!) it'd be fab to be able to take the kids to live abroad for a bit. Finger crossed, eh?- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746

Oh. My. God. The horse course was amazing. For starters is was a beautiful day and I actually got sun burn. I'd forgotten what sunlight was like, all warm and nice and dry. The farm / smallholding was very peaceful, totally idyllic. The horses were fab, the work was engrossing, tiring and satisfying. The woman was lovely. It was all perfect. So much so that I came home and have spent all day today sad, miserable and in floods of tears.
Work is just so horrible at the moment, but try as I might I can't find anything new. I had a glimpse of what our life could be like if we could just get some more money together, even in two years I reckon we could do it if we pulled out all the stops and went for it hell for leather. But that is easier said than done; ATS doesn't feel the urgency that I do for one thing. And I don't blame him, we are just wired differently I guess.
My anxiety / depression levels have been much higher than normal today, they probably would have been like that anyway today, but its just shaper and more in focus after having such a lovely time yesterday.
Will try and do some 'good for the soul' stuff on the weekend. Hopefully we can go foraging tomorrow and make some jams, wines or beers depending on what we find. Also we've planned to have a picnic with some friends on Sunday, hopefully that will help get me out of my funk.- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746
