Orange Messing me about

    Hi,

I've already contacted as many people as possible with my temporary number. I've no desire to sue orange or put in any claim, I just want to get as far away as possible from them and their incompetent cs staff.

I phoned again before and spoke to a lovely lady called Louise who seemed to be the exception to the rule when it comes to orange cs staff (she must have missed the 'how to p155 the customers off' course! Anyway, within 2 minutes she reinstated my line with my original number and the PAC code will be text to me by lunchtime tomorrow - she has even given me her direct number if it doesn't materialise by midday.

Strange how things start improving once you have extracted the email address of the CEO and sent a nice email to them. Louise is obviously working for the wrong company as even she was mystified as to why no-one else from cs figured out how to reinstate a phone line. It took her a whole 2 minutes to sort it all out and she even waived the £30 charge.

Why it takes 10 phone calls and various department transfers until you get to speak to someone who knows what they are talking about I'll never know.

Thanks for all your helpful replies.

I am sorry that you are having so many problems with getting a PAC code from Orange.
My advice would be to call again (I know it is a hassle) and ask them why your contract has been cancelled. The reason is that the account would normally continue to run until either the PAC code had been used or it had expired. If there is now a debt on the account because of the over run on the dates and a bill has not been paid because you would have thought there was nothing more to pay because you were moving provider. I would ask to be put through to Collections who deal with debt but are also really good at unravelling issues that have arisen on accounts such as yours. I would as say that if they say that you cannot have the number because it has been terminated they are correct however if Orange is at fault it can be reconnected and barred to stop usage. Now the problem is that Collections cannot directly issue PAC codes, that is down to retentions and normally it is posted out to customers however they can text it. I would say if you have no joy escalate the call to a manager (ask the person you speak to if they are a manager/team leader). Although I do not have access to your details from what you say this can and should be resolved for you.
    Good luck

It has never been issued. The contract was terminated because the OP requested termination more than 30 days in advance.

Glad to hear it's been sorted out.

  • Hi Winegums,

Sorry to hear of the problems you have had. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do immediately over here as we will need some account specific information from you but if you can contact my colleagues on our Help pages listed on our profile on here I have explained the situation and they will do what they can to get the matter resolved.

    Hope this helps.
