Well that was my first choicw but on my budget it just wasnt possible, £800 just for the ceremony not including registrar fees :eek:would have been a big chunk out of my budget. Does look amazing though. Have you looked at the link to the castle I am using, what do you think? Nice to get other peoples opinions lol. I think it is a pretty close second

How are you feeling now not too painful I hope. Wow you done so much! in a relatively short space in time. I'm impressed!
Somewhere on this site I think it in martin 50 top wedding tips is a tip about converting tesco vochers to goldsmith vochers which you might be able to use on your wedding ring if you live anywhere near a tesco or goldsmith. Flowers if your confident at doing them yourself then get the wholesale from a flowermarket if not look up to see if anywhere in your area does floristry courses and ask if they would do it for you. cakes from what I read on various sites and threads most people save money on this by get an M&S or wairose etc cake and decorating it themselves or getting a friend or relative to do it. RSVP can people RSVP you by e-mail to save you money on papper? Make up there are tips on doing it yourself and video on the web or you could get it done at a department store.

Thank you Scotsbride and The Mull, I have got a meeting with the wedding planner on 21.05.11 and we are haveing a taste test. I will not be shy in telling them exactly what I expect. As I said previously Comlongon was my first choice but could not afford the prices. Will definately go there for a break later in the year as it really is stunning. Maybe sneak my dress up with me and get some crafty shots lol.

Loving all your ideas Scotsbride I think the M&S cake is the way to go as it is 3 for 2 at the moment. Only thing is it wont let me book yet as it too far in advance, I bet by the time I can order it the offer will be finished. Really would like to try and do flowers myself too. Been ooking on Ebay for flowers but still not made any decisions. Was hoping bridesamid dress would be here by now as it was sent first class on Thursday grrrr. As for RSVPs may just type some on some paper and slip in with invitations, dont really know hoe to word them so will have to google it. I have some coloured paper which would match invites so should be OK. Cant get as much done now Im back at work but still enjoying using all my free time wedding planning. Make up and hair are a real worry. Dont feel confident enough to do it myself as I never wear makeup apart from a bit of gloss and mascara, my hair is naturally curly (just adopted the curly girl method of lokking after my curls and it is looking fantastic at the minute) so no good at doing up do's. Did contact college but no body got back to me boohoo. Also still waiting to hear from wedding photographer. Will give it one more day and then try to contact lecturer again. Thanks for the get well wishes too, feeling nearly normal now just some bruising.

Sorry for long post, realising how much more I do need to sort lol x

I took fake flowers up to Comlongon, they were orchids and roses with diamante, i got them off The Bridal Workshop on Ebay, they do a lot of foam roses that look really realistic, but much lighter to carry than real flowers. As we got married in the castle, we had pewter castle place card holders, and red velvet bags with medieval ribbon for the favours. We had an owl deliver the rings, so i put a little pewter owl in the favours for the women, and a mini sporran keyring for the men, then some thorntons heart chocs. I got a brill woman online to do scroll invitations, incorporating an order of service, and it had my oh's coat of arms at the bottom.

I got my dress, bridesmaids dresses, shoes, jewellery, tiaras, grooms outfits etc all second hand off ebay, then sold them all after the wedding to save money.

We got married on a Tuesday because it was cheaper, i think for 19 0f us it cost about £3500 altogether.

Unfortunately, not even two years later, my husband has gone off with a younger model, but it was still a lovely day!!!
