it's probably too late but if you do get the opportunity, I found reflexology pushed me over into labour with no. 2 - he was due a couple of days later but I was fed up so found myself a reflexologist. figured the worst that could happen was I got some pampering for an hour. Have to say, it was very uncomfortable and I was contracting painlessly by the time I left her consulting room! Might have been 'luck', who knows?! But for £25 it was worth a shot! Didn't work with no. 3, though!0

I was 10 days overdue for both of mine. I really didn't want to be induced as I wanted a natural birth in a midwife led birthing centre.
Someone recommended chinese acupuncture and refloxology (which I did both times) and both mine were born within 24 hours of my treatment and pretty quickly as well (7 hours for the 1st, 3.5 for the second from first contraction to giving birth).
A coincidence? Quite likely. But it worked for me.
I wouldn't worry about size. My first was 9lb5.5ozs (that extra half an ounce is very important:D) and as a midwife said to me - big or small it hurts either way!
Either way you'll be fine. Good luck!0 -

It'll be fine... hundreds of women are induced in this manner on a daily basis.
DS3 was estimated to be about 6lb... all 3lb 10 of him.. take not a jot of notice of the supposed guesed weight!!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I really can't see the point of estimating weights of babies - I never do it (I'm a MW). It's never accurate! Regarding the induction, you will be fine - make sure you take plenty to do, as it make take a few days and the worse thing is sat around being potentially bored. I was induced with my second, and neither of my labours were bad.0

Good luck, don't worry about the estimated size of your baby, I was told I was having a 9 lb baby and was terrified when I went into labour, he was only 7lb 1oz when he was born (which was big enough!)0

I was induced when 14 days overdue!
Prior to that, I'd had THREE stretch and sweeps, but they didn't do anything. (nor did the long walks, fresh pineapple, bouncing on gym ball, sex, and hot curries!).
The induction was BORING, so my best advice is to take a good book, or something to do! I was told to arrive at 3pm, but wasn't given the gel until 8pm. I got bored of waiting for something to happen, so fell asleep. They came back at 1am to monitor me, and to get another gel, but discovered I'd actually been contracting regularly. They then went to get the doctor to break my waters, but there was no need, as they broke when I stood up. I thought i'd peed myself!!
You'll soon have a lovely baby!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
